I can't find a timeline or guide ANYWHERE that tells me where the Inu-Yasha movies fit in the continuity of the series. Aren't they intended to be seen at SPECIFIC points in the show (like the POKEMON movies, to cite a bad example...)

The first movie comes in shortly after episode 54. But if you want to get technical, it can't really fit in the serie's continuity anywhere.

The second movie comes in sometime between 76 and 100, I think.

The movies don't fit in any specific place in the series as far as plot/character development goes, but there is one character introduced in the second movie who appears later in the series.

hmm... I thought Inu-Yasha had a pretty solid continuity...

Anyone know of any good sites for a timeline/guide or anything?

Sure, the series has fairly good continuity (not counting some silly mistakes made during the transition from manga to anime), but the movies are really stand-alone stories that, while closely related to the "Inuyasha" universe, are not canon.

The first one fits in right after he learns to the Backlash Wave. The other two can go anywhere, probably before the stuff with the Shichinintai.

I thought that an important event happened in one of the movies. Does Miroku's spoiler[Wind Tunnel really get 'healed' or whatever] in one of them? Or did I run across a rumor? I don't even remember where I got this idea from... just that I personally didn't care for the idea... I really like spoiler[his wind tunnel.] Anime catgrin

Well, in the second movie spoiler[the first thing they do is kill Naraku, which necessarily removes the curse. But wait? That can't be true! Then how would they continue the series if Naraku is dead?] I won't say more than that.

Well, since they spoiler[ended the TV series before the manga, I really wouldn't have expected them to get him.]

Yeah! After all the "suggestions" I've seen on the net(Inu turns human. [Insert character name] dies.) I'm glad they didn't create an ending. Yeah, American anime fans will hate it because most seem to want everything wrapped up nice & neat, but there's always the option of a movie whenever Ms. Takahashi wraps it all up.
