Well I didn't know what else to call it but I don't think its an emoticon. What I'm talking about are those anger marks that appear on characters foreheads or those things that look like water droplets when they're exasperated(I should really stop using words that I don't know). Anyway I don't think this thread will go that far but have you seen any interesting use of these symbols outside of their normal uses? Let me give examples:

In Fruitsbasket, in one of the later episodes(I don't remember which one) spoiler[Shigure has an anger mark on his head and Kagura is apoligizing for damaging the kitchen. And then Shigure does something that made me crack up. He takes off the mark with his hand and says he's just kidding.]

My next example is from Slayers(the first season) when spoiler[Lina and Gourry are captured by Vrumugun and Zangulz for the first time in Saillune and they're trying to escape. Lina gets one of those tear drops on her head(presumably because Gourry did or said something stupid) and picks it up to whack Gourry over the head.]

Well those are the only two I know of. I wonder if there are other moments of such use in other anime.

Oh, thank you. Very informative. I guess this thread will die out faster than I imagined. Well thanks, that's all the information I was looking for. Still feel free to add anything if you have anything to say about this subject.

Oh and I also made a mistake in my first post. Shigure puts on the anger mark and says he's angry. He doesn't take it off. Well it's been awhile since I've seen it, so I'm surprised I remembered that much.
