I was wondering if he was going to add, "an ant-defamation suit is currently underway"

Quote: | The embassy was answering questions on its official Twitter account on Sunday, when a user named Mersu06 asked the embassy if it knew that there was an anime that had re-imagined the Juutilainen brothers of World War II as two sisters "with big breasts who fought in underpants."
The embassy replied to the question stating that it "knew all about that." |
Public Relations opportunities such as those are few and far between. Even if the embassy knew far less than they proclaim, it would be to their benefit to respond to the user in the affirmative. As this article evinces, the press has already reacted favourably.

I'd question why this is news, but I just find the reaction hilarious. I can almost imagine the embassy people rolling their eyes as they typed that.

That sort of response is so vague that I believe the Finnish embassy doesn't know about Strike Witches. That's the sort of response you give to someone to humour them.

It's not news anyway, it's "interest".
Anyway, we are talking about the embassy in Japan, they'd have to have blinders on to not know about Strike Witches since it gets advertised all over the place every time something new comes along. Heck, they probably watch it, a lot of these people work in foreign embassies because they're familiar with the culture. I imagine there's a few otaku working there.

That's true, even though it's not news, it's interesting to me and to some other people.

I'd argue it might not even be that. LOL! They (Finnish Embassy) gave the kind of response one would expect from a famous Hollywood director who's been asked if they know about the porn parody spoof someone's made of their movie.
What's more, "acknowledged" is terribly ambiguous, not exactly a ringing endorsement, or condemnation.

Just one more thing to add to my list of things that make Finland awesome (most of which are metal related).

"two sisters with big breasts who fight in underpants."
Which characters are they talking about there?
