I was scanning the TV and ran into Most Extreme Elimination Challenge on Spike and thought I saw Beat Takeshi (Kitano) as one of those judges or whatever.

I'm not a very big fan of the show, so I'm not sure if it was a guest appearance or something, but has anyone else ever seen him on there?



EDIT: Never mind, I just searched it and the show is actually called "Takeshi's Castle" in Japan and he is the host. Heh, heh. What a silly show... Laughing.

It's actually quite funny. But the TV stations here stopped airing the show some years back.

Yeah we have it over here in the UK as well under the name Takeshi's Castle with Craig Charles doing the voice over. I remember in one episode Beat Takeshi was running down a hill dressed as an aeroplane and he ended up falling over and banning into a tree.

Oh, man, I saw that version at Portcon this year, it's so bad. The guy basicly talks over the whole show in a deadpan voice.

I love the American version, it's basicly the highlights of the "most extreme" parts of the show rewritten.

I wouldn't be against an "Iron Chef" version of the show where they actually do a straight redub off the entire cast and crew, but for now it's MXC for me.

Yeah his jokes are really awful as well. Then again its not watched for the voice over but rather to see a bunch of people doing crazy stuff. The show gets boring after a couple of fews. Mind you Craig Charles is good in Red Dwarf.

In the episodes an hour long in the UK, or do they edit them down to half-hour long(like MXC)?

In the UK we get them as half hour shows, but Challenge TV sometimes broadcast hour-long specials.
