Hey all. I just have a quick question for you all. I'm going to be buying the old Evangelion box set like within the next couple of days. I love this series, and when I remembered that I did not own it, I decided it was a necessity. I read recently though that there is going to be a "Platinum Edition" of Eva coming out, and was wondering if I shoudl wait till that boxed set is out, or is the old one worth getting? Also where is a good site to purchase them from? Thanks in advance

I myself don't even have the (old) box set yet and think it's very fortunate that these Platinum ones are now coming out.
You can get the old ones if you want, but I personally am going to save up for these new ones. I believe they (the Platinums) are supposed to be like the Japanese remasters and in addition will also include a Japanese Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track (which is good for me since I can't stand the dub .) The only thing I'm not sure of though is if they're going to be limited or not. In any case, you can get the old box here: http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=ADV030826 or if you want to take a gamble, you can try eBay. As for the Platinums, Vol.1 should be coming out around July 27 for a price of $29.95 (or something like that.) Thanks to Godaistudios-sama for checking Anime on DVD for me. I like Evangelion, but I only rated it "excellent." I've only seen it twice and don't remember a whole lot anymore (and was pretty confused, nonetheless.) But like a lot of other fans, hopefully I'll like it more when I watch it a few more times. |

Lol thanks Tony. I think I am going to go with the Platinum series idea. I like the idea of 5.1 surround sound with the original Japanese soundtrack as well. Thanks for the links, I'll probably check that site out for fun if nothing else.
