It's been rumored for the last week or so, but Square Einx announced for E3. The FMA rpg is coming to American shores in 2005. I've heard the game isn't that great from a couple friends who've imported it, but still, this should be nice. The FMA fan in me is definatly going to buy it. Now it'll be especially nice if they can release the anime and maybe the manga to coincide with the release *will be surprised if it these aren't announced at conventions this summer*

Has anyone else on the forum played the game yet?

Probably Square Enix. I doubt they'd want to sell the anime to someone else. Anyway, just because they're releasing the game doesn't mean it's any good. We've all seen the crap Square slaps their name on in the past. Anyway, I was hoping there'd be a Dragon Quest in there, but apparently those annoying otaku who buy rpg's for the cg sequences black-balled the series from the domestic market. At least it's good to know they're releasing Advent Children here. It's a shame it'll be another Spirits Within, but the FF 7 fans will call it "deep", because it rips off Evangelion references again.

Mobile remakes of both Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy will be present along with a new project, Beyond Crisis - Final Fantasy VII. No information on this last project has been released, and Square Enix has other surprises in the works.

Oi, now back to the FFVII rumors again. *just noticed this, needs to read pages better next time*

I can't wait for KH2, but no release date yet. Sad

Beyond Crisis - Final Fantasy VII is a mobile phone game. It's in the press release with the rest of the announcements.

Nah, it'll probably be Bandai. Bandai already has their hands in the Fullmetal Alchemist cookie jar with the release of a GBA game and a ton of merchandise.

I played the game a few months ago in a focus group and I have to say, it's not that good, just a mindless beat-em up in which you control Ed, can command Al to charge at people, and transmute normal objects into weapons to beat more people up. They decided to put experience and leveling up into it to make it seem more sophisticatd, but don't let that fool you. Also, the graphics aren't very good either, they are on the level of a cheaply made dreamcast game like soul fighter or something. The game wasn't even developed by Square Enix, some outside company did it. And rumor has it that FUNimation will be announcing their acquisition of the show in the not-too-distant future(GAH!)... well look on the bright side, at least it's not 4Kids Smile

here we go again... more of the anti-funimation league. How misinformed are people going to remain about that company? Have they completely failed to look at the license lists? Anyway, if Bandai does have their hand in the cookie jar, it's highly unlikely Funi will get it anyway. Bandai loves to baby their projects, and it's a good follow up for them.

The rummor of FUNi having the license comes from them owning the web domain name www.fullmetalalchemist.com but that's not a clear indicator at all, it could mean anything.

Oh lookie. It's confirmed. And it's airing on TV.

Any gaming magazine has it's faults. I laughed when someone wrote up an Initial D blurb in Computer Gaming World in the recent issue.

I'm wondering if the guy who wrote it thought of it as "The Fast and the Furious" or was he drunk when he wrote it?

Though I do have a tendency to agree with that sentiment, this one contains way too many specifics to make it seem unreliable. Odds favor that this is correct.
