OKay so I just finished watching The Nadesico Series and MOvie, both open questions never answered and both aluded to more coming. 1) Does anybody understand the movie at all?
2) Does anybody know about a new series OVA or movie coming out? |

1. Yes
2. There will be no sequel to (insert anime title here) in series, OVA, or movie form. There is the half-hour Gekiganger 3 OVA, but it will probably never come stateside. |

I wasn't confused by anything with the movie, it just POed the Eureka/Akito fan in me. Especially the Eurika part. She didn't get more then 3 minutes of sceen time. Didn't help that I hate Ruri... but yeah...
What confused you about the movie? |

It didn't acctually confuse me but it did seem to open alot more questions... and very strongly lead into a possible second series... But apparently that won't happen so

But Ruri is really cute, especially since she's grown up already in the movie.

The anime and movie have a series of novels between them that explain pretty much everything that went on. As for the OVA, I thought it was gonna be on the disc. Oh well.

Older? Yes. Grown up? No. Cute? If the young emotionless girl character type is your thing..... |

They pronounce it like that in the dub. They also call Akito "Akeeeeeeedo," unfortunately...one of the reasons it's difficult for me to watch the dub of Nadesico (personal quirk, it drives me up the wall when a dub mispronounces a character's name). |

I understand that... but I thought the dub had a couple of really nice spots in it too.
I really enjoyed Brett Weaver's performance of Gai Daigoji. Probably my fav. line from the dub was in the recap when he shows up. IIRC, they were going over the stats of the mech, and after ruri says something, he coins a pun and says "You wouldn't understand, it's a guy (Gai) thing." And I'm with you Nagisa.. that's my biggest pet peeve when it comes to dubs. It's too common which is a big turn off for me. |

Since my first experience with Nadesico was the dub, I'm very fond of it. Sure, it's not the same as the Japanese version, but I think they did a really great job on it, seeing as it was an early ADV release, and well... I found the characters fun.

An early release? They've been around now for about 11 years. And it was only about 4 years ago that they were doing the series. If you want to go for an early release, I'd suggest the Dragon Half
![]() Nonetheless, overall as a dub, I liked Nadesico. It had several amusing moments |

I think Akito would probably sound awkward in English whether it's pronounced correctly or not. And if it's not bad enough that Yurika is almost unbearable as a character, her English voice is even worse. |
