I'm not surpised one bit. But I'm glad anime is getting more and more recognition!
I just hope it becomes so mainstream over here in the U.S that we can imitate their very large anime markets and start having easier access to it...

Ooooo, I must read this "Ranman" series. I can't believe I have never heard anything about it!

I'm not suprised either. Look at Teen Titans and Totally Spies. A couple of American Cartoons are having some references to anime and/or Japan. For example: South Park,Simpsons,Kids Next Door, and Kim Possible.

That explains why it "le sucks". I'm sorry I couldn't resist .
Actually, I knew it was made in France. And yeah, "Teen Titans" was definitely influenced by anime.

The Simpsons had another reference to anime a few weeks ago. When the Simpsons go to the library, Lisa notices the Yu Gi Oh price guide.

Has anyone noticed that the new season of Teen Titans uses the Japanese language version of the theme song! I never thought I'd see the day that J-pop would be playing on mainstream television.

I, for one, don't want anime to be mainstream. It's much better this way. It's like a treasure only a few own. Maybe I'm being selfish, but that's the way I am.
