Does anybody listen to older Jpop artists? Right now I'm enjoying Momoe Yamaguchi ('70s), especially "Ichie" and "Ii Hi Tabidachi, Nishi e."

Was J-pop very popular back then? I don't think there are many members old enough to have even heard any from back then, though I could be wrong...

I've seen lots of J-pop fans turn towards the "classics" after a few years of being in the fandom. Can't say that I've ever bothered to search out the old stuff though ^^

My favorite J-pop band, I doubt you could honestly call it classic (yet), it'd be Dreams Come True. Acctually, they're one of my favorite bands ever, for their ability to acctually make a decent English album which wow, is in english. =P
The only reason I could call them classic, is they started only a year after my birth.
Ok. So I guess they're not exactly classic, but still, they are moderately old, still kickin', and I love them. =D

Where would Shonen Knife and Pizzicato Five fit into all of this? Would they be classic? J-pop?

Cornelius is from the 70s, right? He's done some pretty good stuff, what I've heard of it.
EDIT: Since Pizzicato 5 was mentioned, I figured I'd bring this up. I actually saw one of their videos on an old episode of Beavis & Butt-Head. I forget the song, but the video was basically like some black & white go-go dancing....thing.
