Two questions sorry if this was asked before but I could not find it in the manga forums.
Does anyone know why it is counting down? I personally think it is just to the end of an arc and if so would you prefer more mangas to do this? |

I only read the Viz releases of Bleach, so I haven't seen these countdowns myself. But I heard a rumor that Bleach will end sometime early next year, so it must be a countdown for the final chapter of Bleach.

They're just flashback chapters. Flashback chapters have always been in the negatives, and side-story chapters that happen during the actual story get X.Y numbers.
