True. But I watch most my anime on DVD anyway. I just like to read The Click because its entertaining. I do look forward to seeing Bleach again, but on DVD.

Card Battle! There were 2 new episodes this week? Damn, my local CW affiliate preempted both of them for a parade. |

Checked their website and gah, you're right...! The only good I found from it was that they're going to play Venture Bros. at 11:30. |

The changing AS Saturday schedule is a bad sign that anime still can't hold its own in the ratings....

Well, yeah, but Venture Bros. is still on Sundays, too; so they're showing the same episodes, in a different overall order, two days in a row. If only I read this column yesterday before my DVR recorded the wrong programs last night... grrrrr. There is something seriously wrong with the people behind [AS] (not that we haven't always known that). At this point, I'm almost ready for them to cancel their animé block altogether (not that I'm saying they will), so I have an excuse to cancel my TV service. If there's no animé on TV, there's not enough worth watching to justify the monthly bill. So go ahead, Adult Swim, make my day. I'll save money if you screw with your animé — even if I have to buy/rent DVDs to get my animé fix I'll come out ahead or even, but my money would be all going towards what I want to see, not 3 channels I watch and 97 I don't. |

Are they ever going to actually show "Karas: The Revelation"? You know, the end? Where they explain stuff?

Didn't the Sci-Fi Channel already do that? |

So I've recently become addicted to Gurren Lagaan. Does anyone know why Sci-Fi is only showing up episode 8? And are they ever going to air the rest of the series?

The sky isn't falling. Bleach is still their #1 ratings on Saturday, has been for a while. When they took comedy off Saturdays, you didn't claim it's a good sign that anime is finally becoming a phenomena in America. Why claim the opposite when the reverse happens? Besides, it's only an hour, half of it(Venture Bros.) being a show we anime fans tend to enjoy. The only things we really lost was reruns of Death Note, and a rerun of GitS:SAC that had only ran 2 episodes anyways. Anime fans are too quick to jump the gun to the "we are victimized and the world at large hates us" conspiracy. Maybe you don't realize Adult Swim is bringing us a new anime in 2 weeks, "Seirei no Moribito". I know nothing about it, and I'm not too hyped for it, but Adult Swim getting it obviously means your ratings conspiracy isn't true. |

Sci-Fi's not dropping the series, they're only putting it on hiatus for the weeks of August 25th and September 1st, possibly to give Bandai some breathing room for production purposes. By September 8th, Sci-Fi's online schedule has Gurren Lagann back in its regular 11:00pm and 11:30pm slots. |

A quick check of Sci-Fi's schedulebot shows it's back September 8th, along with more "Now and Then, Here and There". http://www.scifi.com/schedulebot/index.php3?date=8-SEP-2008&feed_req= My guess is that since TTGL is being dubbed as it airs on AniMonday, that maybe they needed a couple weeks to dub more. I don't mind either, I like the TTGL dub. More time for another nice dub? I can wait. Plus I love the "Read Or Die" movie that'll be airing in the short hiatus. |

I didn't claim anything. Giving AS all anime is kinda like taking the training wheels off the bike and seeing if it doesn't fall. When anime can ride consistently again, then it's a good sign. The ratings are always compared to the competition - not only against other rivals in the same timeslot but also compared to their own timeslot in the past to see improvement. There's no conspiracy; it's just business. |

Says the guy reaching into his suit for a pair of sunglasses late at night. (ASiB?)
There sure seem to be a fair number of homeless samurai wandering about this show.
See, it's not a beauty contest. Witches provide a valuable service by putting uppity princesses to sleep so they don't have a chance to cause global devastation. This should not be taken as an allegory to why Ryuk likes apples. |
