This series is only available through subscription services in Japan correct? If so, I guess it's understandable that they'd put tollbooths in place for online streams. Of course, doing this with any anime available on free-to-air or basic cable services would be a huge step backwards.

I just heard then that they've pulled it off streaming because episode 7's content is 'too racey'?
Damn my curiosity, I dont even like this series....

Too racey eh?? Now THIS is marketing strategy! They shoulda said that itwas too hot for streaming...so they must make it suitable for TV or DVD only.
Way to make people want to watch it more then ever.

There is a comment I really want to make but, it would be considered a bit too spicy for a public fourm such as this.

But based off that image on the article, I am sure most people can guess.

Let me take a blind guess; Kanokon had too racy, underaged females and too much fanservice to pass on Japanese television?

She's not that underage. Just a second year high schooler. And can you see her massive rack? She's quite developed for her age actually. So I don't think that is the problem here. Just too much borderline hentai.

Yup. This is indeed marketing at it's best.

BTW, Damn! That sucks! Oh well, I hope there will continue still be some fansubs availible online.

If by too racy you mean Chizuru is all but technically topless spoiler[(wearing only two small, pink, heart-shaped stickers, and a thong)] in several scenes where you get a very clear view of breasts, then yes.

Incredibly, almost every episode so far has managed to be racier the previous one, which is quite something, considering that the first episode pretty much started on the other side of the line of decency.

The problem was, that it was too racy 'for kids to watch'.

Kanokon is not aired on any public TV channels, AT-X anime channel provides it only as R-15, while the one-week free streaming at Bandai Channel (and other licensed video-streaming sites) was available to anyone wishing to see it.

The problem came to the fore when J-CAST NEWS (a news site in Japan) posted an article on May 17, writing that according to the rankings page at GYAO, Kanokon was the most viewed movie among elementary school aged boys and girls.
