I can handle a title change but name changes are something i wont get over. So i wont be watching this on T.V.

But the author's name is Conan, not the character. Last time I checked, I don't think you can't exclusively own a name. |

Oh no. The dub has name changes. Oh. Oh the horror. Oh how shall I live in this cru-el, cru-el world? Mehitnks I shall now commit myself to suicide bombing FUNimation headquarters. Please. FUNimation's proven themselves to be a capable anime distributor. If there are potential legal issues, they simply cannot be worked around, plain & simple. Doesn't make them any worse of a company for avoiding costly court proceedings.
Like Samurai CDZ said, this thing's gonna be airing at half past midnight. What the hell kind of responsible parent lets Little Billy & Little Sally stay up that late? And how is this going to be "just like" Yu-Gi-Oh!, praytell? A show that's having it's title changed for possible legal issues & a couple mild name changes in the dub, yet will still be aired unaltered & will have a bilingual DVD release to its credit, is not congruent to a show with moderate localisation and no unaltered, bilingual DVD release. |

I've never seen it, but I was quite sure that it WAS aimed at a young audience. why air it after midnight? Especially with its great popularity in Japan and amongst western otaku.
I don't really have an interest in it either way...just seems really weird. |

To be frank, the name changes are stupid, but it doesn't bother me enough to not watch the show.

Well at least there hasn't been any announcements of music changes has there? Even with a name change, its not like its gonna hinder the actual CONTENT of the show.
I look forward to Conan on Adult Swim, its a great series, it can be quite dark and violent, more than so say DBZ |

"Case Closed" is the worst title evar. At least there was some coherency with "Detective Conan", where you could tell the relation with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Conan Edogawa's names. *shrug*
It makes me think of dorky guys in checkered pants. And that unfortunate volume 37(or was it 38?) cover. Lydia |
