The manga was very poorly received on 2ch; speculation is running wild there that he committed suicide after receiving a flood of abusive letters and postcards. Pure speculation, though; the only facts are the poor reception, the manga suddenly being placed on hiatus, and the author's death.

After reading several posts in Japan on various websites, it looks like this may be true. They are ruthless on 2ch when it comes to comments - he may not have been able to handle it.

Although anonymity allows sources to leak information at 2ch, it also gives cover to spineless, gutless cowards there to maliciously lie about, libel, and defame people.
