I've seen the first episode, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I need to get around to seeing more...

Do you guys know if any European distributors have signed it up? Alas Pioneer don't go this far.

hmmm

Well I'll be the lone voice of dissent here...didn't care for it as much as the OVA or the manga.

Then again I only saw the first 2-3 eps.

Well I have seen the first four eps and was expecting something quite different. I was a huge fan of the OVAs and wanted to see the agency back in action but instead we are met with totally new characters whos abilities dont seem as cool to me as the original. The situations these new characters are put into seem a bit bland. I dont know making paper animals is just kinda cheesy for my taste.
Rolling Eyes

I dont plan on finishing this one anytime soon. I DO however suggest looking into Full Metal Alchemist, great material there.

All the fansubs groups are wrong btw R.O.D TV is actually Read or Dream not Read or Die and the show is fairly interesting it gets better as it goes with it driectly tying into the original ova at episode 14. It's one of those shows that will probably end phenominally.

No, you're wrong.

The second series of manga is called Read or Dream. The TV series is simply Read or Die: THE TV.

Are you sure it's just ROD and everything lists it as Read or Dream and was announced as Read or Dream. It Only says R.O.D never says the name in the anime. I'm a lot more inclined to believe what the guys here say and animenfo.com then the fansub groups.

Check the Encyclopedia. Razz

Also, there was the news repost on July 5th of this year about Pioneer's announced acquisitions at Anime Expo. To quote:

ANN wrote:
According to Pioneer's Henry Goto, Read or Dream is the name of the novel only, not the new TV series.

I'm still a bit fuzzy on if they mean "novel" as in "thick text-only book" or "novel" as in "graphic novel/manga," though.
