If this was signed by the Japanese seiyuu and director, well then they'd have something for me. Otherwise, this does nothing for me.

yeah, same here. I would be a little more interested if they weren't signed by the dub actors, and didn't cost a 100 bucks

I remember them saying in a extra at the end of the anime. It was on the last volume on an audio only track (with screenshot). They said the word "cartoon" to describe Fruits Basket. So, of course, no interest at all for this of course.

Ummm... Fruits Basket is a cartoon. What else did you want them to call it? Anime? That's just the word they use in Japan to describe cartoons. I honestly wouldn't be offended by them calling it a cartoon.
But like the rest here, I have no interest in this at all. I have no idea who those voice actors are and have never heard the English voice track. Now if they were signed by the seiyuu... that would make it a bit more attractive, but I probably still wouldn't get it for a 100 bucks.

I listened to both tracks, but I like the English version, so it would be of interest to me, however, Since I attend various anime conventions and I met a few voice actors already, I would rather have them autographed in person. It would be more sentimental to me.
And yes, I'll have to agree with SoulSlayer. It is a "Cartoon," and really shouldn't be taken so personally. >.>; Anime/Cartoon, it's still a form of animation, even if it was from Japan. So, suck it up and get over it.

I dont agree with calling it a "cartoon" - that still have very many negative connotations in the US - and it is what nearly everyone that does not WANT to understand anime calls it - "Oh its just a cartoon - its either kids stuff or porn - I'm not watching that" - so they ignore it entirely instead of giving it a shot. It tends to bother people that "cartoons" have (a) a story and plot, (b) characters and situations that mimic real life, and (c) look semi-realistic. Just look at all the anti-anime and anti-manga legislation that has been passed in the US recently by the various religious groups.

*sigh.*
I get what you're saying. How about "Japanese Cartoon?" Would that make it better?
Probably not. >.>;
People still think "Anime" is limited to Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, and Sailor Moon. I hear Cowboy Bebop pop up every now and then.
Yu-gi-oh and Pokemon are considered "demonic." They could say the same for Harry Potter.
Also, there are some still think anime is mostly hentai too, so it really doesn't matter, the word anime is still placed out negatively, regardless.
Either way, it sucks. Can't please everybody, or take them away from ignorance. ^^;

Not that this has ANYTHING to do with this thread, but ... um, what the heck are you talking about? There are bills against child pornography and explicit images that come into discussion now and then, but honestly, that has nothing to do with the vast majority of anime/manga. There is no anti-anime legislation. Really. No debate necessary, so please chill
Back ON TOPIC *hint hint* though I enjoyed the Fruits Basket anime, I also have little interest in a lithograph with the VAs' signatures. I'm not so much of a collector that I would spend that much on something like this unless it was a beloved series and my favorite VA. Like say, a Xelloss lithograph with Akira Ishida's signature. That would be worth considering....
I do hope that some of the Fruits Basket fans out there go for this, because more merch is never a bad thing

Same here. While the dub overall wasn't that bad, Tohru's voice was terrible! It was too full of confidence, especially at the beginning.

as much as i like there dubs overall, this is probably my least favorite Funi dub. i didn't like the abscence of honorifics in this case or Laura Bailey's performance, but she made an excellent Keiko in Yu Yu Hakusho.
so no go on the lithograph for me. maybe if it wasn't a hundred dollar slap to the wallet

I'm not surprised in the least that the overwhelming opinion here is that the lithographs aren't worth anything because it's signed by Americans involved with the project. Honestly, I acknowledge the amount of effort that the American companies put forth and as someone that's far more familiar with the American side, I would definitely be interested in these.
