Cool! Yet another season of Yankumi! Love it!

They need to release the first two drama series on DVD in the US...

Seriously again? A third season? I was entertained with the beginning of Gokusen and then it got really old... Didn't bother touching the second season. The character in the live-action certainly loses the certain badassness that was manga!Yankumi. The art wasn't good, certainly but I liked it a lot better.

Eh, the second live-action season was nothing but a rehash of the first season with different actors. I hope this won't be the same thing a third time around.

A THIRD? Wow, they really milk it.

I dunno, I kind of watch drama for stories and the actors, and seeing that sequels of sequels rarely do well on story, and the actors are different, I'm not interested.

I never saw the second season, but I definitely would love it if season 1 hit US video store shelves... *dreams*

So, which Johnny's members will be the main "co-leads?"

Will Kumai be back?

I'm surprised season two was so big in Japan. No Shun or Matsujun, rehashed stuff from season one... hmm.

The show is such a major phenomenon in Japan that roughly 20 million people would take nights off from work to watch it. Besides, factor in the huge fanbase for Yukie Nakama and this show will be successful no matter how many times it gets rehashed.

Plus, everyone loves the principal with the cool hairdo and the Muppet Show music. Very Happy

Same here I made it up to ep 10 in the 1st season but gave up on it. The same rehash in every episode student gets in trouble -> she comes to save the day -> afterwards she preaches to the student.

Really got old fast. GTO live action wasn't as preachy as Gokusen was which is I prefer that series same goes to Dragon Zakura which had a more interesting take on the genre. Hell in that series the teacher actually teaches the studets something educational lol. Laughing
