Longtime hedgehog fan, but seeing the dreamcast era being part of this awesome tribute. I am stunned. Plus I believe many fans will enjoy every part of this game. Whether you were part of the classic, or next gen adventures.

I'm really digging the Modern remix of Speed Highway. Not much was changed, but what did gave this a "Here's how it's like NOW" feel.
And then there's the Classic remix, which is just as neat. So it seems they won't shy away from restricting his themes from Genesis synths like what happened with Green Hill and Chemical Plant. (Actually, it sounds like Sky Sanctuary is more heavily mixed. I'm guessing they get more and more complex as the game goes on.)
This leaves just Crisis City from Sonic 2006 left. I wonder how they'll interpret the place, now that we have a gameplay system for 3-D Sonic that actually works.

Just remember people, even though this is the "Dreamcast Era" trailer, Sonic Heroes was released after the Dreamcast production had ended. Sonic Heroes was released on the Nintendo Gamecube, Playstation 2, and Xbox, and later ported to the PC.

When I read that headline, I thought a new game was being released for Dreamcast. I almost crapped my pants in happiness. Then I realized what it was and proceeded to not care (Sonic console games have been terrible for years, imho).

Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations are calling you. You might want to answer them.

I believe Sonic Heroes began as a Dreamcast project though, and the system was discontinued early on in development. In any case, it was released in the same generation as the Dreamcast, so it'd still be Sonic's "Dreamcast era."
That, and I'm sure someone wanted to divide the game neatly into thirds. Sonic Heroes is a more "Modern era" game if you ask me, or perhaps even a fourth era between Dreamcast and Modern that Sonic 2006 would also fall into.

Loved it. I might get this game. That part at the end with Shadow got me on board.

Quote: | Sega will release Sonic Generations on November 1 in North America and November 4 in Europe for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo 3DS consoles. |
Sega has not revealed a release date for the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Generations. Only the console version for the PS3 and Xbox 360 are being released on November 1/November 4.

Dreamcast Era is when Sonic to suck.
No wait, it actually goes further back than that. Sonic 3D Blast.
Some games should just never go 3D.

I also was surprised when I read this headline. I'm a collector of older consoles, and I consider the Dreamcast to be one of the greatest ever made for a variety of reasons. I was so excited to see another game get released for it so many years later.
Then I read the article and coughed

Come to think of it, the title for this article IS pretty misleading.
Personally, Sonic has not been better since the 16-bit games ince the day stages in Sonic Unleashed. I haven't been this stoked for a Sonic game in a long time.
