How interesting. I wonder what'll happen in the movie. Anyway, it's a good thing that something is happening with the franchise.

this interests me... but a little more information on what this movie will actually be doing would be nice. but I think I can wait for that... just so long as I get more of this...

Time for the first negative post of this thread.
Nothing can save this show from the trainwreck it has become. I really liked it for the first 18 episodes, but then it just fell off a cliff. And, apparently, that's about the mark where they ran out of manga material, so I don't think that's a coincidence. Why creators have such an incredibly difficult time making a GOOD original ending is beyond me, but, outside of FMA, they do.
I'll say this, though: At least they're attempting their own ending. Most shows that run out of manga like to rush and put a pretty bow on it, but BE is trying, it's just not very good.

Maybe the movie will be a faithful adaption of the manga.

Can't wait . Not keen on the last few eps of the anime so far, but the rest was good. So i'm happy.

Aren't there only like 7-8 volumes of content for Blue Exorcist currently?
The manga author would have to have Oda's ability to have so much happen in one chapter for there to be any chance of the anime being a 'faithful' adaptation so early into its run.

Well granted the manga's current storyline is indeed miles better then the anime related ending but it was far from being a trainwreck if the Movie is successful enough most likely they will come back to the current storyline in the manga and animate it when their is more material to used..I enjoyed the anime for what it was..it was an obvious given that the anime was going to have a filler ending from the start..Blue Exorcist has such a unique premise that its a breath of fresh air in the world of manga..I've been a fan of Blue Exorcist since the start nearly two years ago it was a pleasure to see a majority of the manga's material animated perhaps in the future another anime will come out which does seem quite likely.

I'm in the middle of surprise and dislike.
The anime so far has been pretty bad and the manga has just about 27-8 chapters so I'm a little interested and scared at what they might think of doing for this movie...
But, dayum, Ao no E has been getting a lot of attention...

So we're talking Blue Exorcist: Conqueror of Shamballa here?
Not really sure what to think about that...

yes agree.. let me add that they really need to learn how to wait a few years before adapting manga into anime. as well as only doing a set number of episodes a year 12-20 for instance rather than running year round. naruto, op and definatly bleach would all greatly benifit from this. rant done >.>

Totally agree, we knew it way in advance so I haven't really had any issues with enjoying the second half that I've seen so far. Definitely curious about what they plan to do for this film. Glad it's getting the attention and building up in size enough to be able to do a film like this after the series as that also raises the chances that when more material is available it'll be deemed worth going back to for more animation to tell the rest of the manga's story since it's already gotten to the point where it's apparently popular enough that they've green-lighted a film.

Pretty surprised, the series is not even finished and a movie is already a go?
