Berserk just to name 1

[EDIT: As you can see, this is an old post. In fact, it's from BEFORE I became moderator. But for whatever reason, someone decided to resurrect this thread. However, in my new moderator status, I can now (and have) delete posts that violate the one-liner/listing rule. So don't screw this thread up. -TK]

Berserk really needs to be linger than one season. since the manga is so long (and still going) im thinking 50+ episodes. the problem with that is they would have to change alot of it around and cut alot of stuff out

I kind of have mixed feelings about Berserk the anime having another season for the exact reason that you already stated. A lot of things are very different in the manga from the anime. I personally almost look at the two as seperate entities.

Although I would like to see more Berserk anime, I do not think it neccesary. The anime did what it set out to do in my opinion, and that was to make you as miserable as possible Mad . For now, i'm just sticking to reading the manga because it is filling my Berserk Fix.

I completely agree with Hellsing being longer. I love that anime, but I wanted to see more development. Again that manga is also filling my fix for the time being.

I know a lot of people liked the ending to GTO the anime, and so did I. Personally though, I was left wanting more. I just did not feel like the series was over when they ended it.

I think the creator said he is planning to work on another season sometime soon.

There's a second manga series, yes. But I don't think the series is nearly popular enough in Japan to warrant another full TV season of it.

GONZO wrote Hellsing too far into a corner for them to salvage it for another season. I'd just stick with the manga there.

Maria-sama ga Miteru definitely needs another season. But would this one really count since it's actually got a second season debuting in two weeks?

I'd say Fruits Basket needs new season and as many recommened Berserk. I hope GTO comes up with new season after the manga is completed at Volume 25. Golden Boy could use more eps too. I also would love to see new eps of Maison Ikkoku. Yes, you heared me right. MI Smile

As for movies I'm waiting for Ninja Scroll 2 and Steam Boy.

One even Better word : Hellsing

Again, it wouldn't work unless they completely disregarded everything that happened after episode...seven, I think. Whenever the Valentine Bros.' assault ended. Not because Hellsing can't be good if it strays from the manga, but because GONZO are proven failures at writing anything original for the series that isn't a total, fiery trainwreck (with numerous casualties...in fact there's only one survivor...yes, it's Bruce Willis, but only because he appears in the Hellsig manga).

Why? I guess to me the ending was pretty sufficient. What would you people have them do in a second season? I'm just curious is all.

The manga goes even further, and there's still several animals/characters from the zodiac who we haven't seen the story to.

Other then fruits basket, I think another anime by the same company of fruits basket needs a sequal. Matantei Loki RAGNAROK! *grins* They changed things around from the manga quite a bit, but they could still continue the anime because 1) Odin really still has no reason to stop coming after them, and 2) recently in the manga it's been revealed that spoiler[Baldur was actually controlling odin and therefor was the one wanting to Kill Loki]. That, and 3) in the end the last episode a strange new character apeared on the door step who is spoiler[Spica/Angerboda, aka Loki's mistress and Yamino, Fenrir, and Hel's mother.] Lots of stuff there to work with and help satisfy my Norse addiction.

NieA under 7 was a good, promising anime. The mood and setting were unique and captivating, and the characters were engaging and dynamic. Even so, the series sort of petered out, like water trickling away in sand...

It strikes me that this is one anime that really deserves to be continued.

Still though, would it be enough to warrant a whole nother season of the series? I guess I thought the ending was pretty good, and I did feel satisfied with it. Maybe that's just me though Wink

I think that full metal panic needs to have another season. Full metal panic fumoffu was good but it needs to last longer. Sosuke and Kana need to just kiss and become lovers.

Everyone wants to see another season of Berserk of Hellsing but I personally don't think either of them would work out.

I agree with you on the Berserk part for the reasons that I mentioned earlier in this post. As for Hellsing I would like to see more of this series, but so far I like the manga a lot more than the anime so there really is no need IMO.

I'd go for a second Berserk season myself,.... but the manga has got to get to a functional current end point ... I've been thinking that perhaps when spoiler[Caska regains her sanity/memory would be a good point, with all the decisions that would require, etc. ..... ] would be a good point. I'd love for a third season too, after that, etc. I'd only want more Berserk seasons though if they followed the manga like they did in the first season.

But I don't think the Berserk anime was made to have a second season. They purposfully left out characters that are key and also left questions unanswered in an effort to push you towards a second season. I can't see how they would magically work in Puck or SK into a second season of Berserk.

Exactly. Because of how they switched so many things around in the anime from the manga I really consider these two as completely different entities. They have the same name, but there a lot of differences between the two.

I don't either, thankfully the manga is here to wet our appetites for Berserk, and in some ways I like the manga more than the anime anyways.

How about a full Gunsmith Cats anime? Or a complete Battle Angel series?

Ooh, yeah! Either of those would kick serious arse!

But my personal favorite for "needs more episodes" is El-Hazard. Even though they made three series after the first one, none of them managed to touch the big question left at the end of the first series: how did Makoto manage to find Ifurita through time and space?

It's not like it's a terribly important question to answer, but it's such a goldmine of storytelling; if you look carefully, at the very end of the first series Makoto looks 2-3 years older than during the series. What incredible adventures did he go through during these years while trying to discover the secret of dimensional travel? At the beginning of "The Alternative World" it seemed like the writers had understood that, but it quickly degenerated into another harem anime Sad

Okay this may seem odd but Tokyo Mew Mew. I mean that it has been signed to be on Fox and there is only enough for one season (two if they break it down). Also even though I'm not a fan, Witch Hunter Robin it has such a huge fan followng here that I think they should make another season hey it worked for Big O (which in my opion sucks, just like spelling in case I spelled any thing wrong)
