The term and its origin is found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_the_shark . Is this an example? Personally, I preferred the old voices over the new. I am aware of how bad yet loved the show was when 4Kids still had the license. However, with the new cast (that Sarah does the new voice of Ash makes a sucky role), it utterly sucks. Also, they have tried making a petition to get the original cast back. Have petitions for getting certain things done in anime ever worked? [EDIT: Fixed Link ~Zalis]

I have no idea what you were trying to link, however, Wikipedia doesn't have an article with that exact name is what it says...
there is no description. Pokemon voice changes? My kids all went "why did all the voices change? I liked it better before..." and they kept on watching. I can't think of very many instances where on-line petitions changed anything, and in this case, I doubt very much it would. |

A cast change is something you just have to deal with. These things happen and life goes on. A petition would most likely be a waste of time considering that the cast has already changed. It may be different, but the new voice actors have their own talents to bring to the show and I'd recommend giving them a chance. ![]() |

Mine said the same thing and only watches the older series now. But, I think the audience for Pokemon changes regularly enough for the voice change to be unimportant. |

I think Pokemon "Jumped the shark" about the time that they got rid of Misty.
But then I haven't been following it, so maybe not. After all, for years I was convinced that Digimon "Jumped the shark" when they launched Tamers, but recently discovered I was quite wrong. ![]() |

Jumping the shark usually doesnt apply to a cast change. the phrase is usually applied when a series that's on the decline has it's characters in extremely rediculous situations (hense the Fonzie jumping the shark thing). Family Matters jumped the shark when they split Steve Urkel and Stephan Urquelle.

I think Pokemon "jumped the shark" after about the first season. Got pretty uninteresting. BTW didn't the person who did Ash's voice die? I think I saw an article on yahoo about it. Maybe they decided to change the whole cats because of that?

I think once they expanded beyond 151 pokemon into 251 and so forth, you lose count, and then you don't start to care. That certainly happened with me. I used to collect pokemon TCG cards (still have a big ol' stash hidden somewhere), and I just try to make sure I get the older ones so that I can have closure with it. Once they expanded that's when they "jumped the shark" for me.

What? No, Veronica Taylor is very much alive and kicking. The voice cast was changed because Pokemon USA didn't want to pay for the 4Kids cast after buying the license from them. |

I think it jumped the shark in the advanced era with may and her little bro. that sucked major animeballz. They added a 4th member! Just to try to try to spice it up....and it was a little kid...dumb idea.
The adding more pokemon isnt really a jumping the shark thing since it help with the continunity (<-- cant spell)or the show |
