Funimation said they were realesing School Rumble on DVD in early 07. At Zstore they don't even have it under their April realese, and wouldn't anything past April be considered middle 07? So did Funimation decide to hold off until a later date?

Well, release dates for brand new anime can vary. With the acquisition of so many other titles and the continuing releases of current ones (nearing the end of the "GONZO 3," as I call them; Speed Grapher, Basilisk, and Trinity Blood), it's all about timing at this point.

After all, it's still a business. And with competition from other companies, you want to make sure you'll get the marketing advantages. I mean, you've got Bandai coming with .hack//Roots and Geneon with Black Lagoon in April, then Bandai's guaranteed whopper Haruhi Suzumiya, Viz's continuation of Bleach and Naruto through late spring, the end of Full Metal Panic!: TSR in May as well, Hellsing Ultimate Vol.2 in June (hopefully), Higurashi no Naku koro ni in June also, and who knows what else.

Personally, I think School Rumble would do best around the middle of summer or even the beginning of fall. It'd make a nice "back to school" sort of series to go along with the theme around that time of the year Anime catgrin. But just be patient, I'm sure we'll see some information soon.

I never looked at it like that. School Rumble would make for a good anime to watch before going back to school, but I was thinking since School Rumble is so popular it really wouldn't matter when they realesed it as long as it was after their GONZO 3.

I saw some of the fansubs before School Rumble was licensed, and it is awesome indeed. The anime is a heckuva lot funnier than the manga. I can't wait for the first volume.

If only this would be released sooner, rather than later because School Rumble is one of the most funniest series I've seen in a long time. I wasn't able to finish the first 26 episodes, but I was told they also had another season with an unknown number of episodes to myself.. Anyone care to fill me in on what the second season to this hilarious series might be called?

After School Rumble, there's the OVA. It's only 2 episodes and fills in a little bit of the gap between season one and season two, Nigakki ("Second Term"). Nigakki is 26 episodes as well.
