I wondered what would it be like if most of the TV shows we grew up with were made in an anime format, Like WMAC Masters for example. It had 2 maybe 3 good seasons before it was canceled. I was a fan of that show. It had action, and drama, but was aimed for kids. Could it have lasted longer as a cartoon?
Or another classic kids show Power Rangers. If MMPR was an animated series do you think it would have had the same longevity as the live action show? These are the things I think of when the TV is broken... Your thoughts, or suggestions please... |

It has happened already, with series such as Transformers Armada and Powerpuff Girls Z. The results have generally been regarded as negative. The latter is particularly strange, since PPG is something of a parody of magical girl warriors (but more so American superheroes, I believe), so we have PPGZ, a Japanese cartoon that's an alternate continuity of PPG, an American cartoon that's a parody of Japanese cartoons.
It'll be worse with Power Rangers, since you will then have a Japanese cartoon based on an American live action show that's a localized version of a Japanese live action show (Super Sentai), assuming the licensing issues can even be resolved. Not sure about G.I. Joe: Sigma 6, but that might not be an anime by ANN's definition. |

Wasn't GI Joe Sigma 6 done by GONZO? Even by GONZO it might not be an anime? GONZO has done great stuff like Basilisk ans Samurai 7.
Sigma 6 sucked, yes, but it was still GONZO. |

And now there's Fusion Fall, a CN-metaverse game that involves anime versions of CN-owned characters, including very PPGZ-esc versions of the girls, so that's like the fourth volley, or the fifth? ![]() |
