The entire lineup got leaked already, due to someone's stupidity.
Capcom:
Firebrand
Strider Hiryu
Phoenix Wright
Vergil
Nemesis
Frank West
Marvel:
Hawkeye
Ghost Rider
Dr Strange
Iron Fist
Rocket Racoon
Nova
pretty stupid to release this against Modern Warfare 3, especially since the original's not even a year old yet. I like the new additions, though.

Well, I'm not doing the same stupid thing I did for MVC 3, PreOwned all the way.

The salt from Megaman Legends 3 still stings, but I'm honestly very curious as to what the changes will be (things like exchange draining meter will help make Dark Phoenix less of an issue... assuming she wasn't already made a non-issue in this version of the game given what appears to be damage nerfs).
ANYWAY, yes, Shoryuken is down, so I can't spam the pacific north regional matchmaking forums.
(site is likely down because a bunch of people are trying to do the same)

Looks like when the MVC2/3 song states "I'm gonna take you for a ride" it meant my wallet.
Re-balance Phoenix and Wolverine, hook Sentinel up with a little more health, and make Spider-man less execution heavy. The time it took me to have a decent Spider-man is the same amount I put in to have a competent She-Hulk and Wolverine with those two characters being stronger picks in competitive play.
A spectator mode is a welcome addition, so now I don't have to see cards humping when I'm in the lobby waiting for my match with my buddies.
New Characters seem like fun, I have a feeling Strider will be the new Wolverine (but with projectiles). I remember reading that Dr. Octopus' as a playable character was data mined using retail copies of vanilla MVC3, its a shame he wasn't announced or on that leak list.
I kind of wish they took out Nova and put in Squirrel Girl. The dialogue between her and Dr. Doom or even Galactus would be hilarious.

I'm very glad that I didn't purchase MvC3. Strider should have been there from day one, but at least now I get the vastly better version for way less.

Never bought the original, so I'll pick this up.. or maybe I'll wait for a third version
Firebrand is the Gargoyle from Gargoyles Quest, yes? Awesome underrated series. And Phoenix Wright, Nemesis, and Frank West are just awesome.. but still no Rockman Guess he wont be in the next Smash Bros either. Got to admit, don't know or really care about anyone on the Marvel side. I always played these for Capcom characters.

Remember Street Fighter 4?
Then Capcom announced Super Street Fighter 4, stating that this is the definite edition of the series.
Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition was released recently with new characters and re-balancing.
I would not be surprised if another version was already being developed.
If there's one thing I've learned about Capcom's current business model is that they'll release a game and promise patches, costumes, characters, etc. and then just take all those items and shuffle them into a "Super/Ultra/etc." edition instead of releasing it as DLC.
Well Arcade Edition was released as DLC and I got snazzy PSN avatars for it, so if MVC3 does the same thing (which I doubt since even the health/super bars are changed up aesthetically) it won't be too bad.
As much as I would like to sell my special edition copy of MVC3 now (which is pretty much worthless since I used the DLC code for Shuma/Jill already) I'll just continue to play the vanilla version of the game until November rolls around. I'm sure mechanics won't change too drastically, so I'd like to just keep myself warmed up in the game in order to prepare for my team with Phoenix Wright as point.
I'll just swallow my rage and be happy that Capcom is updating the game since my fighting game expertise leans heavily on the "Vs." titles rather than Tekken or Street Fighter.
At least I'll have Uncharted 3, Batman: Arkham City, and now UMVC3 to look forward to in the upcoming months. Hopefully if a special edition is released for Ultimate MVC3 it will include better extras than DLC and a steelcase book cause honestly the "art book + comic" was something they could have lugged into the actual gaming manual.

Wonder if they'll have something for the Holiday season. I'm thinking some more X-Men and Megaman.
I know a lot of people are angry about Capcom with the Megaman Legends 3 cancellation and continuing to release these DLC-esque add ons but I'm pretty excited for this one. I was not expecting Iron Fist and Doctor Strange at all, and they're a couple of my favorite Marvel heroes.

Strider Hiryu will make a lot of people very happy.
But Phoenix Wright? How the heck does that work? Phoenix fights with words, not with fists!

Objection!
He fights with the all-powerful law on his side.

Face palming right with you. Wasn't it a joke in fandom to have Phoenix Wright in this game? And now it's SERIOUS?
Also, where's Dan Hibiki?!

.....ok, so, there are some interesting characters they've added. Firebrand looks like he/it could be a lot of fun to use. Personally, I'm surprised that they didn't make the roster at least as big as Marvel VS. Capcom 2's roster with this update. I mean, really, add Venom, Doctor Octopus and Blackheart to the Marvel side, MegaMan, Ruby Heart, and Bass.EXE to the Capcom side, and we'd be all set for sure. I'm still a bit ticked at Capcom for not even at least releasing the MegaMan Legends 3: Prototype Version (what could go wrong? They generate sales?), but I suppose UMVC3 helps to smooth things out a bit. Not really diggin' the new HUD that they're showing on UMVC3 though.
