I'm not familiar with the manga, but that's kind of neat that he is a Densha otaku/railfan. It's really sad to see him pass away. RIP

My condolences and my heart goes out to the family.

As someone who has recently hit 80th birthday, and is tetsudo otaku, this hit VERY hard for me.

I had met him many times both at newspaper for interviews, and at train events. He was very good person.

We consider him ultimate railfan Sad

Sad news. Seen the anime, I do hope in real life he was slightly less intense. But other than that, the ultimate densha otaku.
