Remasters are the new thing, huh?
Could be the chance for an uncut dub…

Duel Monsters already got a remaster in 2015 and this will probably be the same, just a bad upscaling of some specific episodes.

I still wish they could go back and finish the dub.

It's not just specific episodes. Duel Monsters reaired the whole series in its entirety between 2015 and 2019, complete with the rather rough cropped upscale, lol.

I'm glad GX will be airing again now. Hopefully its remaster is better than DM's, but sadly I doubt it...

Getting this and an online miniseries instead of a proper series 9 is actually pretty surprising, wonder if there is anything else cooking down the road.

I'm relatively sure that the remaster skipped all of the filler arcs and stopped at the end of Battle City, but I never actually saw it myself.

I know shows like Gintama, Soul Eater, and (now) One Piece have reaired episodes along with a new OP and ED. Is that what this is, or am I thinking of something different? Yu Gi Oh GX brings back a of of good memories, but I probably wouldn't have time to rewatch today even if the remastered episodes are offered on streaming services (which I'm guessing probably won't happen anyways). I'd love to check out a new OP and ED if that's a thing, though.

I literally linked the official website, where you can go to the episodes page and see the air dates for all 224 episodes between 2015 and 2019...

How often do 20-year-old, 180-episode merch commercials get redubbed? Never? Konami hasn't redubbed the original series, so none of the spinoffs stand a chance.

If this gets dubbed, it would be the first time season 4 made it to Western regions.

Nobody said the original series needed to be redubbed. Every episode got dubbed, so there's no point in redubbing.
But the (inexcusable) incompleteness that was the dub of GX and 5Ds is a completely different story.

producing an uncut dub would require redubbing

Well, anyway, the point is, the inexcusably un-dubbed GX episodes are in need of a dub, regardless of whether or not they have to re-dub the whole thing uncut.

For what it’s worth much of the stuff that was done with the series between the localizing, editing, & bad voice acting/script with the YuGiOh franchise in general is much more inexcusable than them not finishing a couple of the animes.

At least the original YGO and everything after 5Ds were dubbed in full despite those setbacks. But GX and 5Ds' dubs incomplete, thereby leaving dub-only fans hanging? It's still inexcusable and unforgivable, and finishing what was already started is the only remedy.
Besides, that localization was to comply with children's television programming practices in the states (other English-speaking countries just take what the US gets). Nowadays, in the West, we mostly get anime from streaming and Blu-ray/DVD sets. Virtually no deviation from the Japanese broadcasts in any way.
