Can we please stop with the Digimon Adventure stuff? It's been done to oblivon, let other installments get the time in the spotlight for once in our lifes.

I would be fine with a new Digimon anime that's not Adventure-related.

Here come the people who didn't get the teaser from the Odaiba day video and think this is a new series and not a PV

Digimon Adventure is the most popular so it makes sense. Unfortunately people don't show up for the other Digimon seasons.

I already see people complaining on social media that they're making an Adventure TV show when it's a music video and it's 02 themed even so not even strictly Adventure

there were plans to make a follow up to tamers but since the auteur got in some hot water due to a fan group leaking his politically charged jp only stage play and things seems to have been shelved ever since then. welp : /

fan groups are nasty sometimes

This is the first time I'm hearing about plans to make a follow up to Tamers or that something was cancelled. Is there a source for that? I highly doubt a few Americans getting upset that Konaka said politically correctness is dumb would affect anything regarding a sequel to Tamers in Japan given how many other Japanese creators say the same thing all the time. And how exactly do you "leak" an official Digimon convention like DigiFes when it's livestreamed publicly worldwide by the convention itself.

The only thing holding non-Adventure series back is the lack of interest and sales in the franchise for anything that isn't Adventure.. The Vital Bracelet BE announced it was ending service back in June and I don't think it even bothered releasing outside of Japan.
Plus I see stuff like the Tamers Super Complete Selection D-Arks still for sale on Premium Bandai. It's only Adventure and OG merchandise that seems to move at all so that's where they're going to focus on. And I don't think all the Adventure merch sells that well either given I see the Figuarts and Figu-Rise kits on clearance every so often. It stinks for fans of other Digimon series but at least we get the occasional model kit or item release every now and then.

Every Digimon show after S2 is niche and has no mass nostalgia attached to it. The shows after series 4 might as well not exist outside of Japan and even the train one tanked abroad despite a worldwide rollout. The Adventure sequel and the reboot even went so far as to nearly ignore S2 so the IP borders on a one-trick pony. Adventure or new ideas are all the brand has. Anything else is financial suicide.

A mini-series or movie sequel to Digimon Tamers for older teens would make some sense but it would need to be done without its head writer unless you want the gang to examine the basements of pizzerias and find out who Qanonmon is. Likely too dangerous a reboot to even try.

There was a drama cd sequel to Digimon Tamers that made the tv series' ending definitive to Takato and his friends due to you know. There was another movie focused on the redhaired girl but amazing visuals as all Mega/True Final Evolutions were animated like epic scenes especially when Gallantmon enters into his Crimson mode (in contrast to the poor budget of the tv series' finale). Apparently, the movie wasn't directed by the same guy which made it noncanon but it's a must for every Tamer fan.

I mean like a tv series or directly related to the story or movie that continues with the light novels. Digimon and Precure gets so much compared to Doremi.

Konaka wrote the audio dramas as what if scenarios but these were never planned to be a TV show and were never "scrapped" and Tamers not getting a sequel has nothing to do with politics. At the end of the day, as you say all the post 02 shows have failed to catch on either in Japan or globally outside of their niche fans. But Toei still returns to do original Digimon shows every couple of years and Ghost Game was only like two years ago. People also forget Run for the Money is still airing in Digimon's time slot and I don't expect there to be another yearly show till that finishes up.

People tend to forget that Bandai has a said too and right now they are pushing Digimon Liberator, they also waited until Ghost Game was on its final days to announce Digimon Seekers.
They are ok with exploiting old golden cows whenever, but they usually don't like to push 2 "main" stories at the same time.
