Readers of the manga did NOT take kindly after a certain plot twist and the subsequent plot devices, so readers be aware, or just handle it like Usagi Drop and pretend the later parts don't exist if you don't fancy it.

Edit; Oh, this was manga announcement, not of the novel? Well, the same warning applies.

This makes me curious, what happened? What plot twist made and subsequent plot devices made fans hate the story?

spoiler[Chapter 41, though to better understand knowledge of previous chapters/this arc is recommended. At the beginning of the arc, mc's sister sends the mc on a wild goose chase, trains 6 months to become an assassin so she can kill mc's wife while not waking up the mc's OP parents with whom she lives. She's about to complete the mission before the mc, who's by now realized her true aim comes back, but finds the wife birthed twins. Mc arrives home, nothing out of order, wife is ok, sees sister playing with the twins. Half-way of chapter. Next panel, we have timeskipped 6 years, mc is teaching the twins battling monsters. And the sister's assassination attempt/wild goose chase? Not mentioned/just dropped after that half-way point, mc simply thinks he imagined her motivations.
Next chapter, twins have aged a few more years, mc is traveling with them.]

It would make some semblance of sense if the author had to rush to end it. But nope, this is just the half-way point, and it was exactly like that in the novel too...

Well that's something. At least it wasn't as bad as I expected lol. I wonder what the author was trying to accomplish...

Huh so it was a high strung disagreeable twist that also spoiler[aborted going through with it]. I do not know if that is good or bad or just twisted. Did it ever justify her actions or did it just pretend it didn't happen?

Also does anyone know why this company has existed for so long (2006) but has so few titles licensed to it? (39) That is only about 2 licensed per year. And this includes the many variations in titles (like spinoffs and sequels as well as light novel + manga.

The latter. After chapter 41, previous arc might as well not have happened...

:/ weird. Reminds me of that episode of Zero Punctuation about web comics, where it jokingly talks about how a hack can take a light hearted comic and force in a dark dramatic twist just for trying to get attention. And then shout at people who dislike the sudden change.
