Oh my.
Depends on how CygamesPictures can hand over it (and they sure can), it is possible to bring out the best no holds barred adrenaline pumping sports action of year, because CinGray is wild.

Haven't read the manga. I don't suppose this season will be "Horse Bellies: The Anime"?

Mind you, it's actually the most serious and seinen-esque Uma Musume media.

Nah, bellies will be there for sure - because you can't make a story with Moguri Cap as protagonist without one of her most prominent features known to the fandom Laughing

It's just CinGray take itself way more as more serious and action-packed running sports manga compared to what you expect from Umamusume, so there will be not a lot of fluffy slice moments compared to previous TV seasons.

Just watched the first 3 seasons and absolutely loved them so this is definitely good news to me. Now for people who have read the manga, does it have the original cast in it? Special Week is my personal favorite.

No, cast for OG series not present outside a very few characters - and technically it can be considered as a prequel to previous Umamusume anime series and ONA, because real horse racing career of Oguri Cap started way earlier than careers of any Team Spica members.

I don't remember any Spica member cameos or at least worth noting, in fact aside from Rudolf, Maruzensky and Oguri I don't think you'll know any characters as the ones from the original school only appear in this manga and the game and this manga highlights the other academies a lot more than before, they're not just something that exists elsewhere like the 3 main animes and the spin-off series.
