I'm only 4 episodes in having just started this series yesterday - somehow I completely missed it...I think because it previewed at a weird point between season - but anyhow, I'm loving it. Flashbacks and flashforwards between past and present can get annoying quick if they're not handle right, but they give the proceedings here some real energy. Being thrown off balance and not knowing what the hell is going on for the watcher is a perfect way to capture what's going on with the characters. The mystery of the true nature of the invaders - at least so far - is pretty effective too.

I hope to catch up in time to catch a new episode on Friday.

EDIT: Oh, and thanks Tony.

Episode 17 (Finale)

What a shame this superb show did not the level of chatter in this forum it so richly deserves. I think that was because of its awkward launch date (well after all the other spring shows had already started). It just seem to spring out of no where. In any case, thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved the story, the characters, the humour, the non-humour, the artwork... everything. I look forward to a rewatch where I can view a bunch of episodes at once... I think that will clear up some things for me. Rated this Excellent. I actually thought it was supposed to be 18 episodes so last week I thought, "gee that seems like the end of the series." And sure enough, it was.

I also watched this recently and enjoyed it well enough. It did have 18 episodes, but one of those episodes was episode 0 which confused me too a little bit when sites said it had 18 episodes.

It's highly unfortunate that early on it suffered from some pretty bad issues with its subtitles apparently. I believe Crunchyroll fixed those issues eventually but I'd guess some damage had already been done.
