Feels so soon for a trailer, but it looks good so far.

I'm liking everything I see here. I think it's expected that Production I.G. wouldn't use Toei's color schemes, and that's fine. I find the manga colors better in most cases, so I'm happy with that.
I hope that they can at least get Akira Kamiya back as the lead, but I understand if they can't.

Put those hopes away, because it likely isn't going to happen. Had this been a movie, similar to what City Hunter has been getting, then maybe, but I highly doubt we'll ever see Kamiya do a lead role for a weekly TV series, in general. Maybe, if anything, they can get Kamiya to voice Mayumi Kinniku (Suguru's father) as a sort of cameo role, but I think he's done with voicing Kinnikuman himself, at this point.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if all of the characters get recast for this series, with maybe some of the OG cast getting cameos, at best.

But I think KAMIYA is coming back
Because when I came to Tokyo the day I had to leave Tokyo they had a Kinnikuman anime exhibit in Tokyo Tower and I heard from the Grapevine that he was there and also he did voice can KINNIKUMAN in a commercial recently I'm assuming if they're using him in promotional material that he might be the only one from the original coming back.
But if he doesn't I would like to see Masaya Onosaka, Toshio Furukawa or or if they're going witheither a completely new cast either
Koichi Yamadera or this one might be a controversial one to say buuut Takahiro Sakurai would be good for Kinnikuman as well but like I said this is my thoughts.

Akira Kamiya is 77 years old; it would be as awkward as Toei forcing Yusaku Yara as Aiolos in Saint Seiya at his age.

Most Kinnikuman characters already have 2 or 3 different VAs attached to them as it is. The majority of characters were recast when they made the Scramble for the Throne anime, and then got recast again for Nisei/Ultimate Muscle.

The only characters with really iconic voices are Meat and Kinnikuman himself. And since Minori Matsushima is dead and Akira Kamiya is at least semi-retired, I agree we're most likely looking at a brand new cast from top to bottom.

I also just thought of who can replace Kamiya
And almost have a perfect sound like it would be Rikiya Koyama he took over on Detective Conan as mouri kogoro and when Kamiya did it it was almost the same exact voice as kinnikuman

There's a major difference between doing voice work for a promotional piece, which can literally be recorded in a single day, & voicing the main character of a weekly TV series. In fact, I think the last time Kamiya did just that for a new production was for Ryo Saeba in Angel Heart in the mid-00s (& even then Ryo's a secondary main character in that story), and as others have pointed out he has long since stopped voicing Mori for Detective Conan, which was pretty much his last major recurring voice over role remaining until then.

Since retiring that role, Kamiya has only done what looks to be secondary roles for a handful of TV anime here & there, roles which likely only require him to come in every now & then, at most, instead of being needed on a recurring basis week in & week out. Either that, or they're video games & movies, which are recorded in a shorter period of time, in comparison.

I know he's retired and probably not he's not coming back probably but you mean it could it could happen though

I was thinking who could also replace KAMIYA
Like
Rikiya Koyama (voice match pick see detective Conan's Mouri Kogoro whom kamiya was the original voice in almost a direct voice match )
Masaya Onosaka (nisei connection)
Toshio Furukawa (nisei connection )
Koichi Yamadera ( brand new take )
Takahiro Sakurai ( brand new take)

A shame that the now Seinen manga mostly cleaned itself up for the return. Ultimate Muscle did that first of course. Good guy Nazis who are celebrated as heroes in Germany and the most racist caricatures known to men, with full black face and whatnot, were always what stood out about the Shounen Jump original. Casual murder and borderline gore also never made it into the anime versions. Maybe now?

The returning manga remained a period piece due to Ultimate Muscle still being the official next-gen sequel. The longest comic interquel ever?

It's worth remembering how long the 2011 Revival is at this point.

The Perfect Origin Arc is 22 volumes long (Volumes 38-60, since they continued the original numbering), that's the same number of volumes as going from Goku meeting Bulma as a kid to Krillin meeting the Grand Elder of Namek.

Even avoiding filler since it's finished, you'd probably end up around a hundred episodes or so, unless things got a bit more compressed. Well, depending upon how long page wise the volumes of the two series compare, I'm not entirely sure.

Either way, probably a bit much for Kamiya.

Worth noting volume 83 of Kinnikuman just came out in the last few days in Japan.

I doubt a 100 ep series would get greenlit. I would expect it to be abridged... hopefully better than Scramble of the Throne did. That series most egregiously cut out the fight between Asuraman and Satan Cross, while simultaneously wasting time with filler comedy characters like Konita.

If it's a limited series, say 26 episodes, I think it's possible to get Kamiya. Otherwise, maybe he can just reprise his role as Tatsunori in that flashback cameo.

I do hope we get a longer running series at least I'm hoping maybe 50 50 episodes will be the maximum 26 maybe the minimum that's what I'm hoping for but if we get it over 100 episode series I'd be glad with that because I own all the volumes of the manga and I've been dying for years to see a new adaptation
Since now it's production IG is doing the series I think we're going to get the most purest form of KINNIKUMAN besides the manga.

Scramble for the throne did adapt that fight by the way it was only for a couple frames but they did do it LOLZ

Well I think to be honest the only thing from TOEI`s version of kinnikuman coming back is akira kamiya and that's a big if

Oh geez, I don't count that! Laughing
Didn't they show that during an "in the last episode" recap? That drove me nuts. I thought I'd missed an episode somehow.
