He spent his life well. Fantastic Children may be a niche series, but Nizo's art direction was not unnoticed by me. And he only did 1 painting for Weathering With You? Well, even if this little, he was involved with Mikoto Shinkai's actual best movie (Your Name has..... writing issues).

What an impressive list of titles he was involved in. It's sad to hear that the world of anime has lost such a talented man.

"Princess Mononoke" is one of my favorite anime. I'm sorry to hear this news, and I hope Yamamoto-san's family and friends will be all right.

Absolutely gorgeous work. He will definitely be missed, and I hope they publish his last work still. Heartbreaking that he didn't quite get to finish it.

The man had a rather glorious career, and while he may be gone, his work is not. We owe the artistry in these movies to him as much as we do everyone else who worked on them. But Yamamoto was indeed an integral part. He will be missed.

Two Mononoke Hime articles in a row. The chances of that in 2023 is crazy. Thank you Yamamoto for contributing to the GOAT and my favorite Ghibli movie Mononoke Hime. I hope your family and friends can get through this.

RIP

Ah, how sad it is that we continue to lose the giants of anime and manga so many of us grew up with. Being one year older than Nizo-San, I have seen so many of my heroes in these industries ascend the spiraling staircase before me, and I can only hope that the younger generations following mine will continue the same great legacy. RIP Yamamoto-Sama.
