It's kind of funny everywhere else has realized "Metaverse" is a complete failure and has become associated with being a really negative thing with just today Entrepreneur publishing an article about how every major english company that was once invested (Disney, Facebook, etc) has slimmed or shut down their "metaverse" departments but Japan still hasn't gotten the memo and every few weeks we get something from Square, Hololive, now Sunrise, whoever that thinks the metaverse is still a thing and a good buzz word to use like it will make people excited for some reason.

This isn't even related to the Zuckerberg Metaverse, please try reading anything before you type. |

Glad you went on this whole spiel instead of just googling for a couple seconds to find out this has nothing to do with the Metaverse you're thinking of. Just putting it all out there for everyone to see, that takes a lot of guts. |

Is that a new Super Fumina? Same color scheme. Same hair and eye color, but the bangs, specifically the middle part, goes *Kevin Harlan voice* right between the eyez! Mask Lady's design reminded me of the character in the .hack//sign opening, but the hair (plus style) and outfit color reminded me of the character in the Tokyo Game Show 2016 visual.

If Obari is handling it, it's in good hands.

My dude its an anime set in fictional japan prob like 100 years in the future or something of course it has nothing to do like facebooks "Metaverse" that is insanely jank and terrible but the point is that it BEING THE NAME OF THE SHOW is not a good thing, Japan still thinks its a positive buzz word for some reason still when its like a year+ past anyone in the western audience looking at it even remotely that way |

I like the character designs for Seria Urutsuki and Mask Lady. Might check this out in October.

Talk about one ugly gundam design.
Please destroy it by episode 4 or 5 and build the MC something that doesn't look like a first attempt at kitbashing. |

Completely agree. Logged in to say same thing. It is not 2015, meta is dead like NFTs and crypto. AI is new buzzword for everything. Japan responded very fast to trend. Usually takes us 20 years to catch up on pop buzz. Most Japanese people will think Facebook when you say meta. facebook did good job at grabbing word/phrase/concept and tarnishing buzzword very fast. Using Metaverse here shows how slow we Japanese are to catch up on things. I think your comment is as you say “spot on”. Typical otaku fandom try make excuse for poor Bandai management still living on 2015. |

The Zuckerberg metaverse didn't even slightly come to mind when I read the title. It's a silly Gundam spin-off show. Using the word "metaverse" doesn't mean it has anything to do with a real-life failed business.
Anyway, Seria's design is just... wouw. I kinda love it. |

Guys, the term Metaverse was first coined by Neal Stephenson in his 1992 novel "Snow Crash", describing a 3D virtual world. He also coined the modern meaning for the word Avatar, as a figure or persona that you use online. He also imagined Google Earth by another name. Second Life was directly inspired by the Metaverse in "Snow Crash":
Yes, many of Silicon Valley's CEOs are fans of said book, due to the technology described in it, while completely missing the mockery on American Capitalism, which in that book (set in a futuristing 2010's) has completely devolved into Anarcho-Capitalism. By the way, looking forward to this new addition to Gundam. Edit: Stephenson didn't coin the term Avatar (itself a Sanskrit word) with its modern meaning. That honor belongs to video game developer Richard Garriott. Stephenson's "Snow Crash", however, did popularize the term. He did coin the Metaverse, though. |

Hosing myself at the people clamoring out to the world that a single phrase is now officially dead.
Bring on more Gundam. |
