Dude really needs to stop ego-searching, it's very clearly only causing him suffering.

Poor guy. I don't know much about him, but it sounds like he's doing the best he can at the moment.

Poor Jun needs to not take things to heart. He's an amazing writer and should take comments lightly.

Feel bad for the guy. Clearly you don't intend to write a bad story but you can end up doing just that.

Wonder what happened to those Angel Beat games though

He needs to learn to give the haters the cold shoulder and just keep doing what he wants.

A lot of people think his work in the 2010s isn't up to par with what he'd done prior. I think he might be able to benefit from taking a break and coming back when he has something he's really passionate about.

I won't say he run out of steam as much as his last few works were f***d up due to budget restrictions. Both Charlotte and The Day I Became God would have been way better if they were 2-cour series. Cannot say anything about this mobage as I have not played it.

I haven't seen Charlotte but there were a lot of problematic aspects to The Day I Became a God that I don't think could be fixed just by making it longer unless they entirely redid the last arc from the ground up. It's too bad since I thought it started off with a lot of promise.

Dunno, I think it's main issue was not the plot itself but the fact that they had to cut like half of it which damaged characterisation and pacing.

Unironically, I think TDIBG was not only good or great, but excellent, I'd probably give it a mid-tier 8 out of 10.

On the other hand, Charlotte was one of the worst anime I had ever experienced, at least at the time I watched it. There are like, 5 status quo shifts throughout the whole show, most of which have a fundamentally different genre, complete with a new "premise" which doesn't really tie in to the original storyline, including on episode 1, which most people could probably forgive, and like 2 or 3 at the very end. It's not very fresh in my memory so I can't speak it that much depth about it, but the genre shifts at the very end were outright bad and would have been bad even if you gave the story 50 episodes.

I wasn't too keen on the way in The Day I Became a God they spoiler[demonized the hospital and made it out that the MC getting any medical treatment was somehow a bad thing when the hospital wasn't really even doing anything that bad to her and trying to help her under the limitations they had with treating her but they seemed to act like stripping her of any medical treatment was somehow better for her which is like no and seems like not a great message to me to send out.]

I am sad to see so much Charlotte hate here (I personally loved it) but The Day I Became a God was the FIRST Maeda work where I actually DIDN'T like the protagonist and....
that never bloody happens, man.
Shocked

He was just so darn dumb. There was a side character I loved because he was way more interesting (and not dumb). I wish that he had the main role instead. 8(

spoiler[I think it was also related to cutting the content. They rushed the whole thing how MC persuaded the hospital to give heroine back and nurse characterisation was quite odd. ]
