She did a great job, especially without rehearsing! Hope she gets to rest up now

A+ for all the effort that went into it and for the staff and cast supporting her. And she managed to deliver so phenomenally.

Although losing your voice has got to be one of the hardest thing for a seiyuu. Especially since Kuno-san is as in-demand as she is.

Not surprising to hear considering she was also voicing Hiruko on this same season. Still respect to the staff and herself for the effort here.

Another day, another idol loses her voice, dear god, take it easy Kuno; you still have to have voice Nina in U149.

People were talking about the strain she must be putting her voice through in the episode-by-episode discussion of this season's Made in Abyss final episodes.

She did a fantastic job in a difficult role.

I don't get why she needs to apologize for putting her best effort and literally lost her voice to do it.

I mean isn't japan suppose to encourage people to give it there 110%? So why the pressure of feeling like she let everyone down and apologize for?

That's exactly what creates the pressure. If giving your 110% is common, or at least perceived as something a diligent self-respecting person would do, then you start feeling guilty about failing to live up to it, and 100% doesn't feel enough anymore. If that sounds ripe for abuse from employers' side, then make no mistake: it is, and that's exactly why you see people in various skill-demanding positions (like animators, to give a common example) working for near-minimum wage and the society at large not giving two shits about it. They're supposed to give it their 110%, what do you mean they're overworked?

It's a viscious cycle unfortunately. Giving 110% is by definition unhealthy for any period of time. Unhealthiness puts you at risk for injury, which means you can't give 100% if you do get injured, much less 110%. Now you're not meeting the expectation of giving 110%. If giving 110% is a non-negotiable expectation, then it's blameworthy whenever you can't give it no matter the reason. TL;DR, Giving 110% is a really bad outlook ripe for exploration.

She needs a break, and a stellar wage, too.

I think the point she made about not rehearsing concerned the screams, specifically (this kind of throat-shredding shrieking tends to sound more powerful and visceral the first few times, before the vocal cords become strained, so "rehearsing" the screams would arguably have been counterproductive).

Wasn't it you who suggested ANN do an interview with her? Laughing I'm glad that she's getting time in the spotlight for this spectacular performance.
