It's an old, old, OLD joke to have the person who seems least likely to know about modern technology actually be the only one who knows how to actually use it, so it's really not that surprising to see the ad go in that direction.

Except Lupin has done way more complicated tech stuff in the series than using a McDonald’s App.

Or Fujiko instructed him how to use it to make sure Lupin doesn't screw up her order.
