Hi there!
I am thinking of picking up the His & Her Circumstances Box set. Being a Gainax fan and generally hearing good things about it BUT I have heard about the slightly edited scene due to the tv version being given to Right Stuf. If that is the only case and its doesn't from what I can gather detract from the series I would probably still pick it up funds permiting. I know this has been mentioned before, and maybe a matter of opinion on whether you would rather see it un-edited, but some further input would be nice to help me finally make up my mind.
Cheers for patients

I say pick it up if you can. It's a great series and the "edit" is *maybe* a minute of footage. The idea still comes across, it's just not as blatant as the home video version.

I've always tried to consider the good things with these sorts of occourences. The TV version was never released in Japan. The Western Market got the TV version. Ergo, we got something they didn't. WHich isn't saying that OMFG WE HAV IT BETTA DEN U!!!11!One!!! it's just saying that well, we got something different.

There are always imports. I picked the LD box set a few years ago from Anime Jungle for about $120.00 used.

Cheers for the input. Think I'll take the easy option and get the Right Stuf Box

It's a terrific series, but not everyone likes it, because it's just about life and love, and that's that.
I would suggest reading the manga as well ^^

When Arima and Yukino have sex, in the home video version, there's a montage of still scenes.....a pile of clothes on the floor, their hands, their faces close, etc. In the tv broadcast version, it's a dreamy-type sequence with a voiceover by Yukino about how their relationship has changed.

There's also the episode and a half of recaps that got changed. TV version they're just normal voiced over summaries, but in the LD release they were done as music videos.
