It was time for KH4 to be announced. The transition to 3 to 4 was obviously going to be quick. Funny that Nomura said that he wanted to do a Verum Rex game, but he was worried about Sora so he chose to just go into KH3. I hope SE lets Nomura make his true vision of Versus before he retires.

Well, it seems like Nomura is dead set on making versus a reality. The city in the teaser looks VERY Similar. Also, wpuld not be surprised if this is the game where we get marvel. Nomura has said he has wanted to include it, and the photo realisitc style seems practically made for it. Really curious.

I'm genuinely shocked. I thought this franchise was done after Kingdom Hearts 3; considering the massive letdown that game was, are fans really that excited to wait a decade and another console generation for this to come out?

Jokes aside, best part of this was seeing Sora get his Gurren Lagaan on.

It doesn't matter if the game actually sells a lot, and Square now is in complete lack of options since they are basically in the chain of major screw-ups from all the sides from both old and new IP, and it can continue even more this year.

Because of completely dumb decisions in terms of management and marketing, the whole SQ is now carried off by the backs of Nomura (and it's more like 50/50 with him) and Yoshida, and Square is out of it's grace by the large margin.

People disappointed in 3 was always weird to me. 3 was an amazing game.

It wasn't perfect but I thought it was a fantastic evolution for the series and wrapped things up way better than I thought possible considering the number of plot threads they were dealing with.

If something is successful enough and makes money enough, producers tend not to be too particular about resurrecting corpses of bygone things, with varying results(Highlander, Matrix, Crow, Indiana Jones, etc)...

I don't know how people can still be surprised by this, it's been years since Nomura said that KH3 is just the end of the Xehanort saga.

Not sure why people are so surprised they announced KH IV. When KHIII came out SE came out and said it wasn't the last game. Re:Mind had a cliffhanger ending. It was just a matter of when, not if.

This was obviously in the works for a while, probably since Re:Mind came out. Maybe even earlier since Nomura had said 3 is just the end of the Xehanort Saga and not the end of KH overall. SE has its share of recent mess-ups, I won't argue that, but implying they went back to KH because of them and having no other options is very ignorant.

I wasn't expecting to see a KH4 trailer anytime soon, so having that come after trailers of a bunch of mobile games you'll inevitably have to play/look up to understand the lore was very Kingdom Hearts.

Sora in the real world! That's kind of surreal. But it looks amazing. And Nomura trying to keep Versus alive in his own way.

I wonder if they'll still get James Woods back as Hades this time around...and how they'll factor in the Disney worlds.

Yeah, they even show off the new arc title.

Considering how long it took for KHIII to come out this game will arrive in 2026 and since Square-Enix always tries to push the graphics quality to the limit the base PS5 and Xbox X/S will have some issues but the pro versions of those consoles will run it better and some years afters its release SE will make a cloud version for the Switch 2 Laughing
All jokes aside, I'm never been into KH, I've played a bit of KHII on the PS2 but I never finished it, I'd like to play the entire series but all the spin-off games that people say are needed in order to understand the story make it seem kind of difficult to get into. Also, Sora looks kind of weird in that realistic style, maybe if he manages to reappear in the next Smash Bros. they'll update his look.

the never ending story Razz
I stopped caring about the plot a long time ago, it all became so convoluted a while ago and now that the main reason i started playing KH in the 1st place seemed to of been mostly removed in KH3 which is the inclusion of FF characters, i cant say im that hyped about it(will still play it though : P)

square enix does like to overly complicate story lines...Thinking of how they handled FF 7 >.> "lets remake a Final Fantasy game, but then just add in another confusing plot line in a game thats already hard to follow"

With the game selling more than any other in the franchise, followed by a glowing reception of Sora getting into Smash Bros. against all odds, I wouldn't call a franchise "done" just because a faction of naysayers throw up their arms over the game's shortcomings.

More like "unreal" world, amirite? (If you know, you know. And it's not because of Unreal Engine.)

Disney is contractually obligated to approach James Woods for the role until the day he dies, because he loved playing Hades so much. That's why he was in KH3.
