I adore Ikuko-sensei but I'm still rather confused why they got her two years in a row. We pretty much asked her every question we could squeeze out of her at last Ushicon. :p

Yeah, but she didn't have the seiyuu for Ahiru and Mythos (I can NEVER remember how to spell his name) with her last time. Not to mention Luci, Chris, and Jessica.
I just wish I could go. *sigh*

Same as well, especially since both Luci and Jessica will be there.
It's great that Princess Tutu is getting some much needed exposure in conventions. There was a Princess Tutu panel at Ohayocon last weekend and it drew a pretty good crowd. It would've been better if Chris Patton was able to make it to Ohayocon because he did agree to participate in the Tutu panel in Columbus. (Unfortunately he had to cancel for some reason.) I felt from the discussions we had at the Ohayocon panel that we might have convinced some people to give this series a look. Hopefully the same effect will happen in Austin.

Yeah, I'm bummed that I missed that panel. (I was only there on Saturday, and I think the panel was on one of the other two days.) What I did find heartening was that two of the cosplay skits involved Princess Tutu and there were at least three young ladies going around the 'con dressed as Tutu - and one was a dead ringer, even down to having the right figure. (I dearly hope she posed for the pictures the 'con people were going to be posting online so everyone can appreciate how perfect her cosplay was.) Guess the show can't be too obscure if it's getting that kind of 'con attention.
I'd love to be at this event to thank the people involved for making the series and finishing out its English release, but alas, I live nowhere near Austin.

Had the Orgs. still been running the convention, I know there would have been more effort to bring in "new and exciting" guests. Since this event is gratis, "she's cool to hang out with" was an acceptable motivation. But, in all honesty, part of the reason this crew was compiled for this event was because I heard (on here) that the DVDs weren't doing well and (after meeting all the people behind it) I thought that shouldn't be the case. So, The Tutu Cast Party is being thrown in large part to help raise the profile of Princess Tutu.
That said, I think I now have a greater understanding of why it hasn't sold very well. *sigh*

Really frustrates me that this show doesn't sell well since it deserves much better, but by this point I've come to accept that magical girl series just don't seem to do well for the most part. It's a shame that the North American market is not as accepting of these kinds of shows (even the really good ones). I didn't think much of it back when I was collecting them, but at this point it seems like a miracle that such great series as Cardcaptor Sakura and Magical Project S actually had the chance to be completely released stateside. It is good that Tutu finished as well after that long delay that worried me a lot (and what's better, it actually got a good dub, unlike CCS which has a heavily adapted dub and MPS which has none at all)
I really hope you succeed (or anyone that tries for that matter) with your goal of raising Tutu's profile.

I'm a major fan of this show. I agree that it deserves a lot more publicity considering its story and other commendable qualities.
I wonder. This year at AnimeExpo 2007, does anyone believe that there will be any news concerning this title or a booth? Or will it have been old news?
(I've never been to AnimeExpo; this will be my first year. So, I don't know what to expect. There's probably another thread for this, but I thought I'd throw this out there and hope I don't get ravaged by the merciless posters. )

I just checked the official website for the con and they haven't put anything up regarding programing or guests yet. (This doesn't totally surprise me, the NDK website didn't put up stuff relating to guests until a month or two before.) There might at least be a chance that one of the english dub VAs will be there, though.

At SAC anime over in Sacramento, I must've met like...
...
One Tutu fan (or more precisely, this was the only person who really talked to me about looking for Princess Tutu DVDs).
But yeah... it's not exactly in hot demand, which is too bad.
Oh, and that reminds me... I don't think it was mentioned, but someone was going to hand Miss Itoh a scrapbook composed of fan submissions of Tutu related things...
I managed to get 3 drawings in (before the deadline)... I sure hope Miss Itoh likes them.
Though... the scrapbook could've used more people contributing to it...

Agh, yeah, I actually talked to the girl doing the scrapbook, but I put off doing a letter for it waaay too long and wasn't able to finish it in time. x.x I did manage to ship off a box of presents for Itoh-san and the actors, though.
(hopefully, without the notes, Mythos' seiyuu will get that I got him a nutcracker because I heard he likes to make sweets. I'm not sure if the joke really...comes through)

Haha, are you the one that sent the toys/Nutcracker? I heard about that stuff. Heh. Did you finish your letter? Or hope to and just didn't have time, if so, I could possibly get it to Itoh-san even if it's not in the scrapbook. Interesting to hear from a few people who sent in things for it. ()
(That's not my baby, but I know the person putting it together)

Yes! That's me! I gave him a Nutcracker because his encyclopedia entry here says his hobbies are cooking and making sweets. So I thought that'd fit him well. I meant to send your friend an e-mail but COMPLETELY forgot. (Everything was done rather last-minute, and I just started back on school so things have been crazy.)
Would you be able to give the actors and Itoh-san some notes if I sent them to you as a few attatchments in an e-mail or something? I'd don't want to bother you, I just completely forgot what date the party was and thought it was already too late....
