That's probably going to be a devastating blow to HIDIVE. Situation really sucks.

In the chances that they'll be removed from the service probably? And in case the Funi service comes back to VRV possibly (with CR and the other brands still on the service)?

Yeah, I was even wondering what would happen to VRV, and from this PR, it looks like its still possibly going to be alive. Just hoping they still keep their sub model the same.

I guess it depends on if they want to continue being a channel on VRV, since they are not owned by either AT&T or Sony. On the other hand, Rooster Teeth seems more likely to eventually drop off of VRV since, unless we hear otherwise, they continue to be owned by AT&T still through what remains of Otter Media.

If Sony is smart they'll try to leave VRV as it is. Hidive is not a threat at all to them and basically pick up the leftovers that Sony doesn't want as well as OVAs. By having it as part of VRV you can get people to subscribe to hidive while still benefiting from it. Then fans who want shows that hidive has will still be giving some of the hidive money to Sony. They could have a crocodile and dentist bird like relationship. This is assuming Hidive doesn't pull out of VRV on their own.

Indeed, SlamMan, just hoping it gets left alone and that HiDive/Sentai doesn't back out of it themselves or being forced out of the service. It would be nice if all 3 brands on the service (Funi/CR/HiDive) share the same roof.

As a VRV and Funimation subscriber, I'd probably drop VRV, go to the new Funiroll service, and subscribe to HIDIVE directly if HIDIVE leaves or Sony kicks them off. HIDIVE would probably get more money from me that way.

Wonder if this means Sentai is out and Funi is back in...

I also wonder how long they plan to take to start changing things. They now have a few services that would (business wise) probably be better to start combining and save on resources.

I'm more concerned about what this means for roosterteeth content than hidive content. Hidive has a competent app for most consoles and such but I don't think roosterteeth does.

Exactly. As a subscriber to VRV, Funimation, (and Netflix), I want all of my anime on one service. Most of the anime I watch tend to go to Funi, with some on CR, and a few gems scattered through other services. A unified service would be so convenient. I also wouldn't mind having CR focus on subbing while Funi does the dubbing again.

Wouldn't mind if HiDIVE gets kicked out or decides to leave VRV if it actually pushes them to actually make their own app for PS4/5 and/or LG webOS. It's the major missing piece forcing me to use their website to stream through the laptop hooked up to the TV.
