This is a Pocket phrase. It would be feel to write oh and say GOODBYE CAUSE HE IS NEVER GONNA WRITE ANYTHING AGAIN.

If he does though maybe it's a OneShot regarding the connections that happened.

Though i am 100% sure the big announcement is the Anime's Next Season.

This series was always mediocre, but I lost my trust in Ohkubo as a writer after he strawmanned Tamaki's haters and had a kid go on a spiel about how the cheap fanservice of a 16-year-old girl was actually a good thing.

Wasn't that meta joke one of the best parts of the manga? One of the most popular, at least.

I hope this means he's changing his mind about retiring. He has to go all the way now.

Nope. That was the best part and I'm glad he doubled down on it and made it part of Tamaki's character development so people like that would never come back if they bothered to. This series was always great and that made it better. Readers loved that moment for a reason.

100% agreed! Everyone I know that read the series loved that moment. I loved the series and am sad to see it end. Hopefully Ohkubo changed his mind about being done, but if he really is that is understandable.

Remember GitS? THE Ghost in the Shell, an iconic story that defined cyberpunk genre? The original manga?

The lesbian sex scene no one asked for and has nothing to do with the actual story?
I don't like it personally. It's weird and out of place, I think it was excluded from later prints. It's just a cheap fanservice for the sake of it. But still- it's up to writer and publisher to decide what's good for story and what should be excluded. You can't ban fanservice. It's literally impossible. If you don't like the character- look for others. Fire Force has big cast of characters. Don't like all of them? Then don't read the manga. Soul Eater still exists. There is no Tamaki. And Maka IS a great female character.

Censorship? Bullying?! These things should not be tolerated. You don't like author- you don't support his work. Simple. You don't send them death threats because YOU didn't like some stuff they've put there. (I am not talking about someone in particualr, I am talking about situation as a whole)

Kudos to Ohkubo for standing up for himself. Majority of creators wouldn't talk back or even worse- would have changed story/character for the sake of 2-3 loud haters who don't even buy their manga. I don't remember any other cases when authors used their work to silence their haters.

Well, whatever Ohkubo decides to do, I wish him the best of luck and for a good conclusion to Fire Force.

Western creators, maybe, but I don't really recall any instances of mangaka bowing to the anti-fanservice crowd. A lot of mangaka tend to ignore those people, or make fun of them. Eiichiro Oda is renowned for trolling people who write to him complaining about the way he draws women.

didn't enjoy Fire Force but the Soul Eater had one of my favourite dubs so I hope his next work is something more akin to Soul Eater.

Read the end of the series(pretty "meh" in my opinion, but that's honestly how I feel about the series as a whole). I mean, I don't know if he had decided to retire and then changed his mind, but this now makes it look like it was an almost-two-year-long ploy so that people would shit their pants when the end credits say "gotcha!". Looks like it worked.

I enjoyed Fire Force though I've only seen the anime but even if you like the show I don't get how anyone can say with a straight face that the Tamaki scene was the best part of the series or that her character was handled well and your reasonings for why it's "the best part" comes across as juvenile.
