Rest in Peace. I guess Jirokichi will need a third voice actor now.

Heard him recently in Tensai Bakabon where he played the father of a character he played in the 80s.

Ah, that sucks. He was really good at both the funny old man roles and the villains.

Rest in peace, I loved him as Danbei from the Cutey Honey franchise.

I haven't heard much of his work, but I sure do recognize his distinctive voice as Dr. Bacchus in Cowboy Bebop and as Shunsaku Ban in Metropolis and Astro Boy (aka, Higeoyaji in the latter). He looks like he was a happy fellow in his life. Smile If so, then well done, Tomita-san.
