Some of my absolute all-time favorites in here. This should be fun.

Is this going to be a one episode a week deal (I hope so)? It will be fun to watch along with the reviews.
If this works, maybe ANN should put a few classics into the seasonal review poll every season, so that seasons when new series don't generate enough enthusiasm, one or two classics could be reviewed. |

Darn, I was hoping someone would do Glitter Force Doki Doki especially to see if someone can pick out the edits.

Excellent list, though KLK being old enough to be considered a "classic" hurts a little. Looking forward to it! |

All but 12K are two cour series, so they should be running two episodes per week. 12K might run 3-4 instead, or it might just run longer. |

Didn't they do that a few time before? I'm guessing since they stop it didn't get much traction and they're only trying again due to covid. Is kill la kill already a classic? Was barely 7 years ago. Maybe I'll give 12 kingdom another go, the first couple of episodes were not very interesting, but I could find a better jumping in point, preferably one were the other people that came with the main character are gone. |

Oh ho ho, I have been holding on to my Escaflowne blu-rays waaaay too long without watching them, this is a great idea!
Depressingly purchased for a quarter of the price it cost me to have that huge-ass original white Sunrise VHS clamshell release shipped to Canada back in the day. Yeah, I’m old. |

Wolf's Rain is one of my top five favorite anime, and I'm really interested to see how those reviews turn out. I don't think I'd consider it an easy show to write about given how dense and even obtuse it can get. Its one of those shows where I discover new things every time I revisit it, but I never feel dumb for missing certain elements the previous time around.
Also really happy to see long-time favorites Princess Tutu and Escaflowne make it in! |

I volunteered for it, but it didn't get enough votes. I am, however thrilled beyond belief to get to do Princess Tutu and very excited about Escaflowne, which I haven't seen since the infancy of my anime fandom. |

Is this the first time a Pokemon series has received a streaming review?

I haven’t watched Escaflowne in almost twenty years and one of the few things I can remember is that there’s a LOT of...
“Van-sama!” “Hitomiiiiii!” And the music’s stellar. |

They’ve been hit and miss. In some cases, they did weekly classic reviews of shows that weren’t streaming, which likely cut into the readership. I think the idea is strongly influenced by AV Club’s TV section, which did classic reviews for a number of years, but has largely stopped (TBH, it seems like ANN keeps up with more shows weekly than AVC does nowadays).
I think it just barely preceded ANN starting the whole classic weekly review format, which began in 2014. Plus, if it’s true that most fans only watch anime for a few years, it’s likely that a significant portion of the readership got into anime after KLK came out. |
