So in someone else’s more informed opinion, is it best to order the game from third party retailers/GameStop or order through the PS store? I want to be one of the ones that hopefully get an early shipped copy, or at the very least, no delay.

The source says it's due to the virus. Based on what's said in the source, I'd guess that the logistics of shipping can't guarantee items to arrive on a certain date in many countries, so they're sending everything to the most affected regions early. So even with the variable delays, the result should be everyone getting the game by release instead of some people potentially needing to wait after release.

A week early, eh. REmake 3 flew out of the door 2 weeks early. I have known it´s ending for a week now. Lol but FF VII-1 had it´s own major leak at the start of the year so I too know where this road ends up.
The reception after gamers had time to stew on the partial remake will be fascinating.

Don’t order from a physical shop. They might be closed by the time of release.
