It looks like we're going to get more generation of the console on the near future, here are the release date prediction of mine:
PS6 2026 PS7 2034 PS8 2044 PS9 2057 PS10 2063 Jesus, how long they'll make this console!? |

Hard to say as nothing is certain and for all we know they might go bankrupt or change names, but it defintly seems that sony is intended to keeping the console an active role for the next 30 to 40 years.
We will see how the future will go. |

Hopefully,
Sony builds the first generation of PS5's better! They always have problems with first production runs of their videogame product. With Sony, you're better off waiting and NOT buying on launch day. They usually don't get the systems debugged until third or fourth production cycle. It's been that way since the PS1. My 60GB PS3 is only alive because I got an external fan to deal with the system heat build-up and rarely use it as a Blu ray player... |

I wouldn't read anything into this. For all we know, Sony won't use any of them, and only trademarked them so nobody else can ever use them.

I've got it! Backwards compatibility will apparently be something Sony will be pushing with the PS5, but maybe we got it all wrong. Instead, Sony's going to sell consoles solely to play older PS games on, and PS6 through PS10 are how they're going to be identified!
1+2+3 = PlayStation 6 1+2+4 = PlayStation 7 1+3+4 = PlayStation 8 1+2+3+4 = PlayStation 10 Finally, the PlayStation 9 will be a PS5 with some extra BC capability, so 1+3+5 or 4+5 or 1+2+5, with the remaining number being for bonus VR support. Or, you know, I could just be talking crazy talk. Wouldn't put it past Sony, though, honestly. |

How uncreative. I'm waiting for Sony to release PlayStation (2025), following the gamemaker's tendencies to just reboot/soft reboot/remake their games.
