5 years at the current speed is about 190-200 chapters. It's already more plausible that the "a little more than 100 volumes" that he said in january, which would have made about 100 chapters, but I still think there are chances it will be more 250/300 chapters, so around 6 to 7 years.

Of course, Oda's original plan when he first started One Piece was for it to last five years, and we've seen how that turned out (not that I'm complaining.)

5 years? Yeah, that's not happening lol. We've still got Elbaf, the World Government, the Tenryuubito, the Void Century, Monkey D. Dragon, Shanks, Blackbeard, Raftel, Mihawk and Zoro's epic duel for the title of the World's Strongest Swordsman, Luffy Vs Fleet Admirial Sakazuki, Admirial Greenbull, among other things... I think another 15-20 years at Oda's current pace.

It's possible for One Piece to tie most loose threads in 5 years if future arcs are expedited, but considering how drawn out Oda has written One Piece arcs, I doubt 5 years will suffice for a fitting conclusion to most plot threads that are still being woven.

Oda "wants" to end it in 5 years, doesn't mean he'll be able to do in that time.

Is Oda saying like he wants to end One Piece 5 years from now? Because only it feels kinda vague but I doubt he will end it in 5 years, maybe 10 years at best but knowing him it will take longer than that.

Thank goodness for the One Piece Wiki because my attention span got bored with kicking this can down the street a long time ago.

And One Piece will end in more than 5 years. Same with Detective Conan, these two veteran animes and mangas will never end. But I'm wondering, who will end up first: OP or DC?

Im-sama will be revealed to have the Sosei-Sosei no Mi which lets him revive whoever he wants. He'll revive Gol D Roger, Whitebeard, Ace, Kuina, Ryuma and other powerful pirates and marines under his control to start the final war against all pirates.

I bet there's a good 25+ years of potential spinoffs, even if he does manage to actually end the main series in the next 5 years.

Maybe the final arc will start in five years? Anyway, I doubt it will end near that time frame. If it does, great, if it doesn't also great. I'm fine with it going on as long as Oda wants as long as it we get the ending he wants.
