I didn't know there'd be 40 somethings that can play too.

Pokemon is for all ages. I've seen grandmas go out and play this game.

Yup. I'm in my early 30s and play with people my own age, my mother and her friends (aged between 65-72), my brother (43), and nephew (8). I've traded with my teenaged cousins, too. Definitely see all ages raiding where I am.

People of all ages play it in Japan. I've seen small city blocks shut down during raids because it's just so congested by everyone standing still to take part. (and usually there isn't a single kid in sight)

Also, remember, you may think 40 year old, but we're hitting that era where we have 40 year olds who have grown up with video games and computers throughout most of their lives.

I like how the article starts with a paragraph of how a man assaulted another player and ends with a paragraph of how Pokemon Go has brought joy around the world and even brought people together.

That really hurts, they should be friends, not rivalries. Rolling Eyes

My 50, almost 60 year old aunt plays this game. Which I find funny because when I was 14/15ish (now 29) she told me to grow up, that I didn't need to be playing Pokemon anymore after I had asked for the latest game for Christmas.

So nice to see people who once had the mindset of "Kid stuff only!" now learning that it's for everyone. Too bad my other aunts and uncles haven't figured this out yet.

It's sad though, to hear about an adult attacking someone else over a game though.

While it's true that 43 isn't too old to play Pokemon, he's about 30 years too old to be punching people over a video game.

It's likely a press release. You don't want to leave the impression that your product encourages violence among its players.

"Ociffer, you don't understand! He took over my gym!" - Is what I like to imagine the guy was shouting as he was being shoved into the back seat of the police car. Laughing

What's more surprising is 40+-year old people still got into a fight for careless behaviour.

I’m 49 and the only thing that will get me to stop playing video games is death itself. While I don’t play Pokémon Go, I do have quite a few friends my age and older that do!
