Ah jeez, I was looking at the new J9's website the other day, wondering whatever happened to all that. What a shame. He had quite the career, and the comments regarding a desire for more original anime for scriptwriters to get into (rather than just adapting from something) had me rooting for his project. RIP.

This is definitely sad to find out about, but at least Yu Yamamoto lived a full life, I'd say; he definitely didn't die super young, at least. Still hoping Discotek will one day bring over the J9 Series, since they have that working relationship with Enoki Films, because every one of them is really cool, and to this day feels unique amongst mech anime.

As for Galaxy Devine Wind Jinraiger, one can only hope that everyone else who was involved with it can actually make it happen one day, because that'd be the perfect way to honor Yamamoto's life.

Man, where's Netflix when you need them? Jinraiger would be the perfect thing for Netflix to get involved in & make happen. With Voltron coming to an end, a new entry in a series as stylish & unique as J9 would be the ideal show to follow-up with.

At this point in time, the new J9 project might be better aborted if it has an uncertain future. RIP to Yamamoto-san!
