I followed up to about chapter 100 or so. It is a good story but it would have to be long to cover everything.
(Also, standard rant: THIS gets an anime but Marginal Operation doesn't?)

Guy in love with his soon-to-be step-sister is a reason for me not to watch or read this.

If you thought Scum's Wish or Real Girl were annoying, this series will frustrate you to no end in every single aspect. It's such an infuriating series, I dropped it and never looked back. Do not recommend.

My brain can't comprehend this. Totally unexpected.
That said, if the series is going to be stopping after a certain point, I might watch. My biggest issue was the direction series started to head after going in the complete other direction for so long.

This series made Scum’s Wish ( which I like) look as innocent as your average Shojo work, yes, it is that serious.
The main protagonist will without the doubt become the most hated male lead once the show airs.

If they cast Yuma Uchida as Natsuo, it will be more weird and interesting

Eh. It's just walking a thin line between NTR porn and shounen harem. About the only thing that elevates above that are a handful of chapters focusing on secondary characters. Then it's right back to MC's struggle to keep it in his pants and the drama that causes.

All my excitement died once I saw that Diomedea is doing the anime. Farewell, DnK anime adaptation...

So the plot and character criticisms aside.. If this is 13 episodes (or dare I mention it 12) There is no WAY they can get through 50+ manga chapters to attempt to get to the first story arc break. It would take a director of high skill and a Scenario writer with some talent to pull that off and not lose the nuances of the characters in this particular manga.
Btw, For those of you reading comments and haven't read the manga, This isn't scums wish. This also isn't even a harem series. The closest this series GETS to a harem situation is when the manga author teases the readers with a non canon side story or two (which are probably not going to make it into the anime). There are some red herings and additional characters, but for the most part each and every character has a purpose (and usually it's NOT to NTR the main couple at the time).
This manga (and hopefully the anime) are all about a trio of human beings that have been thrown together that don't want to disappoint their parents or cause undue pain for each other. (Yes Really stop looking at me like that).
Natsuo makes human decisions. He's as realistic of a seventeen year old male with a moral center that you can probably get; thanks to his dad and birth mom raising him to be that way. He follows what he feels is right even to the point of being very un Japanese and sticking his nose into peoples lives that have problems. He is kind of blind to his own sometimes but not in a hypocritical way. He LEARNS and GROWS. How many Shounen protagonists can you name that do that in a romance setting?
Rui (the younger sister) starts out as a young woman who doesn't understand herself or the world around her, but this again is due to environment. Her decision to lead to what happens on the first few pages of the first chapter are explained quite thoroughly over the course of the manga She also grows as a human character (granted sometimes this is through self realization AFTER causing trouble for others but she shares this trait with her sister).
Hina.... is a bit of a tougher case to defend (and I say this liking her the best besides Momo as a character). She is an adult that hides behind the convenient excuse that adults get to cheat by being dishonest and practical at the same time. Meanwhile she makes some very self destructive decisions while still remaining a likable character for the most part. She is probably going to cause the most frustration to readers / viewers just for the simple fact that she is mildly old enough to know better (at 23).
tl;dr Give the anime a chance. The main characters are likable and very human if you pay attention to their full stories and motivations. Momo and Al may sadly piss off a few people, but to be fair they did in the manga at first too. Then again if pseudo-incest is a hard no for you, I can't really do anything at that point since while the manga doesn't really throw it in your face, the family dynamic of the five people involved IS an important part of the story.
