Published by Activision...? Yuck, my excitement for this game has dropped a lot. I'm going to have to stay very cautious about this game now unfortunately.

You clearly fail to grasp what a publisher does. The game is made by From Software, Activision is only acting as the middleman to release it, they don't actually have any creative influence on the game.

A publisher is someone who pays a developer/video game studio to make a game for the said the publisher. A publisher makes all the money/profit from the game not the developer. A publisher is ultimately the IP owner. You're right that From Software is making the game and you're also right that Activision is distributing it but Activision (the publisher) owns the IP and has the power/control to do what they want with this game. From Software is not a publisher they are simply a developer. If Activision tells From Software to add monetization/microtransaction BS in it From Software will have to comply unless From Software has the balls to tell Activision to piss off.
I've been avoiding all EA and Activision games for the past two years and seeing that this game is owned by Activision (or at least is involved in) disappoints me immensely.

It does look great, but man From Software, next time in a teaser don't use the same font you used for Bloodborne. But I mean this is the same company with Miyazaki who trolled everyone about that one item in Dark Souls 1 so I almost wonder if they did it intentionally to make everyone think it would be Bloodborne 2.

Wrong, so, so wrong.
A publisher, as the name implies, publishes the game. They are, by no means, the main investors, nor the IP owners, nor are they the original idea creators. Nintendo is a publisher for many, many indie games, the same goes for Microsoft, and Sony. They do NOT own the IPs, and in most cases, they haven't paid a single cent to the developers. How do publishers earn their "keep"? simple, by publishing the game, they keep a % of the sales for every game sold, or using any other kind of calculation to get a % or fixed amount off of the sales (usually the sale, haven't really seen any get a cut from the profits).
A publisher, however, CAN be part of the main investors for the title, they CAN also be the creators of the idea, and they CAN also be the IP owners (like Capcom and DmC, for example). But those are things a publisher CAN be, not what it IS. Do not confuse something or someone with multiple roles as that someone's main role comprising all those different roles.

From Software: Yay!
Activision: Boo!
Okay so they made Bloodborne: Nioh - Bionic Commando Edition. Looks neat, but I prefer Nioh's more fast-paced style and monster design.

@chronos02
If that’s how it works I’ll swallow my pride (I won’t try to prove you wrong) and take consideration of the information you’re telling me however that does not change my distrust towards Activision. I’ll wait couple months if not a year to see if Activision does or does not do anything they’ve done on their other franchises on this game.

Don't worry, I share your disgust and disdain towards Activision, but a publisher can't meddle that much with a game, much less with FS, since they could go to another publisher and they'd have to kiss goodbye to the enormous profits they could get from one of their (FS's) franchises.
